Salvation is by grace through faith alone. Obviously, the grace that gives the believer salvation is available as soon as the individual believes in his heart and confesses with his mouth that Jesus is Lord, and that God raised Him from the dead. But, as the born again believer begins to walk out his faith the evidence of his salvation by grace through faith will bring forth transformation and sanctification as he/she grows progressively into a mature son of God. Therefore, it’s not by works that no man should boast, but there will be external evidence of the internal regeneration that takes place as one fulfills the law of God; which is to Love thy God with all your heart soul and mind, and love thy neighbor as thy self. Jesus said I didn’t come to abolish the law, but to fulfill the law. Later, Paul said if you love you have fulfilled the Law. Through the redemptive cross of Christ Jesus, we have been given a new covenant, that allows us to fulfill the righteous requirements of the law. Through denying our flesh, and loving God with all of our being, we allow him to manifest himself in us that the righteousness of Christ (fulfillment of the law) might dwell in our mortal bodies. Ultimately, taking us from corruptible to incorruptible as we walk out our faith with fear and trembling.
