For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Jesus did not say whosoever believeth NOT in me shall burn forever in hell. No He said they will perish. They will die the first death. "The wages of sin is death" who pays the wages? Sin the consequences of our sin pays the wages. Jesus does not punish or kill or harm us. How can we love a God that tells us if you don't love me I will kill you? Try that with your wife ...it will not work. God wants to transform us into his character. To become like him. This is not legal. This is transformational. This is the real gospel that Paul presented in the Bible. See 2 Corinthians 5:21
