If we stripped any revered figure of their historical and cultural context and told their story anonymously, reactions would vary based on the listener's biases and preconceived notions. The same could be said about stories from your faith. Let’s try this: imagine a man claiming to be God, associating with sinners, overturning temple tables, and being betrayed by his closest followers-anonymous, he might not fare so well in judgment either. But here’s the kicker: greatness isn’t determined by cherry-picking stories or removing context. It’s about the legacy they leave behind, the principles they stand for, and the impact they have on billions of lives. Muhammad’s influence as a leader, reformer, and spiritual guide is undeniable-regardless of your subjective opinion. According to your belief, Jesus’ death was part of a divine plan, orchestrated by God, who presumably could’ve chosen any method to 'save humanity.' So, was it truly a selfless act, or simply fulfilling a predetermined role? Now let’s talk about Muhammad. You dismiss him with 'he didn’t do anything for humanity,' which conveniently ignores that he united warring tribes, established a social justice system, advocated for the rights of women and orphans in a deeply patriarchal society, and created a civilization that led advancements in science, medicine, and philosophy-achievements that benefited humanity in tangible ways. So, if you want to make this about contributions to humanity, the debate isn’t as one-sided as you’d like to pretend. Outrage doesn’t win arguments-facts do."

Forgive those who have wronged me for they do not know what they do
@scoviaachan617216 күн бұрын
"Ah, the classic 'holier-than-thou' flex, quoting scripture to veil condescension as piety. If you’re so busy forgiving others for 'not knowing what they do,' perhaps you should reflect on whether your own understanding of this discussion is as perfect as you think. Forgiveness is noble, sure, but using it as a moral high ground to dismiss others' perspectives? That’s less about grace and more about passive-aggressive self-righteousness. Maybe save the platitudes for Sunday school and try engaging with the actual argument instead."

@orpheemulemo8053 "Ah, the classic 'you’re dismissing people' accusation-but let’s unpack this, shall we? If someone is genuinely wrong, pointing it out isn’t dismissal; it’s correction. Dismissing someone would be refusing to engage at all. The difference is in the intention-am I ignoring them, or am I trying to clarify a misunderstanding? Your math analogy is cute, but it’s worth noting that most of life isn’t as straightforward as a simple equation. Sure, some things have definitive answers (like 2+2=4), but many topics-like morality, philosophy, or culture-are nuanced. They require dialogue, not just a right-or-wrong binary. So, if I’m engaging, challenging, and offering counterpoints, that’s not dismissal; it’s debate. If we can’t call out incorrect ideas without being accused of 'dismissal,' then we’re stuck in a world where everything is valid-even when it isn’t. And trust me, that’s a far scarier thought than a little constructive criticism."

"From a utilitarian perspective, the better moral example isn’t just about preaching ideals but about maximizing well-being through actions that produce real-world results. While Jesus’ teachings of love, forgiveness, and humility are admirable, they often lean toward passive ideals-turning the other cheek and waiting for divine intervention. This approach, while spiritually profound, doesn’t always translate into practical solutions for the challenges families and societies face. Muhammad, on the other hand, exemplified active leadership. He united warring tribes, implemented social justice reforms, and established a functioning community. He didn’t just talk about love and compassion-he institutionalized them in ways that improved the lives of countless people in his time and beyond. For me, Muhammad’s legacy as a proactive reformer and leader makes him the more practical moral example. While Jesus inspires in theory, Muhammad delivers in practice, embodying the kind of leadership that aligns with utilitarian principles of creating the greatest good for the greatest number."

Mohammed also married a little girl so
@scoviaachan617213 күн бұрын
@@justkpop5659 "Ah, the oversimplified 'Muhammad married a little girl' argument-an old trope that conveniently ignores context, history, and cultural complexities. Let’s unpack your tunnel-vision perspective, shall we? Historical Context Matters: In 7th-century Arabia, arranged marriages and early betrothals were societal norms, not anomalies. Girls were often married at young ages because life expectancy was shorter, and societal structures dictated roles based on maturity at puberty, not modern legal definitions of age. This wasn’t unique to Muhammad-it was common practice across cultures worldwide at the time. Critiquing this from a modern lens without understanding the historical context is intellectually lazy. Selective Outrage: If you’re genuinely concerned about historical figures marrying young, why not scrutinize similar practices in biblical times? For example, Mary, the mother of Jesus, was likely a young teenager when she married Joseph, yet this is celebrated without critique. Why the double standard? Reductionist Arguments: By focusing solely on this detail, you reduce Muhammad’s life and legacy to a single aspect while ignoring the transformative societal reforms he enacted. He abolished infanticide, advocated for women’s rights, and established systems of justice that shaped civilizations. If this one point defines your entire view, it reveals more about your limited understanding than it does about Muhammad. Convenient Moral Superiority: Using this argument as a moral high ground overlooks centuries of Christian-led atrocities-forced conversions, colonialism, and even the endorsement of slavery. Are we to dismiss Christianity entirely because of its historical baggage, or can we acknowledge that all traditions evolve over time? Practical Focus: From a utilitarian perspective, the question should be: What impact did Muhammad’s life and teachings have on humanity? His leadership united warring tribes, established social justice systems, and promoted education and charity. This legacy is far more relevant than a single aspect of his personal life, which was culturally normative at the time. A Gnostic Reflection: From a Gnostic viewpoint, this kind of hyper-focus on surface details reflects a shallow grasp of deeper truths. Prophets and spiritual leaders operate within the flawed material world, and their actions are shaped by their cultural and historical context. True understanding requires moving beyond judgment to seek the broader wisdom they offered. In conclusion, if your entire critique rests on one historical detail, perhaps it’s time to expand your perspective. Judging a 7th-century figure by 21st-century standards isn’t profound-it’s just convenient. Let’s aim for a deeper conversation that addresses the complexities of history, culture, and legacy."

Yes, such narrations exist in Islamic texts, but they reflect the norms of 7th-century Arabia-a time when societal structures, lifespans, and cultural practices were vastly different from today. Marriage was often based on tribal alliances, survival, and practical needs, not the romanticized notions we hold today. As for the verse praising Muhammad’s character, his overall legacy speaks for itself: he advocated for justice, abolished harmful practices, and uplifted marginalized groups in a deeply patriarchal society. If you’re going to critique, at least take the time to understand the complexity of historical context instead of reducing it to soundbites for shock value. Ignorance may get you likes, but it doesn’t hold up in a real discussion."

@@OriginalAids DID JESUS APPROVE OF VIOLENCE IN THE OLD TESTAMENT? Within Christian doctrine, Jesus is believed to be fully God, meaning He was present and active in the Old Testament. Acts of judgment, such as the destruction of idolaters or divine commands for warfare, are often interpreted as part of His divine will. For Christians, this aligns with the belief that His nature is unchanging-the same Jesus who taught love and forgiveness in the New Testament is understood to have guided Israel’s actions in the Old Testament. Keep in mind I heavily censored this so it wouldn’t get deleted.

@@Adara787 If you examine examples like Numbers 31, Ezekiel 9, Joshua 6, and 1 Samuel 15, the violence is portrayed as divine judgment intended to establish moral and spiritual order. But here’s the tricky part: how do you reconcile those actions with Jesus’ later teachings of peace and forgiveness? That’s a challenge many people wrestle with. Some Christian thinkers suggest that the violence in the Old Testament doesn’t contradict Jesus’ message but reflects how God engaged with humanity in different circumstances.
@AbdullahIbnAbdullah-pk1kf18 күн бұрын
@@Adara787 They claim Jesus remains consistent across both Testaments-demonstrating justice in one era and mercy in another. Yet, many still wrestle with the moral implications and how these actions align with the peaceful, loving Jesus depicted in the New Testament. The Quran on Violence and Justice The Quran addresses violence with a clear focus on self-defense, justice, and mercy. For instance, Surah Al-Baqarah (2:190-193) emphasizes fighting only in self-defense, avoiding excess, and ceasing conflict when the aggression stops.

Yet, centuries of Eurocentric depictions have turned him into a fair-skinned, blue-eyed savior, more suited to Renaissance art than historical reality. But here’s the thing: if you’re keeping it real, why stop at appearance? Let’s also talk about how his teachings-about loving your enemies, helping the poor, and avoiding judgment-are often ignored by 'Team Jesus' when it’s inconvenient. Depicting him more realistically isn’t just about skin color-it’s about embodying his message without cherry-picking. ✌️"

Ironically, many actual Caucasians face discrimination and aren’t considered 'white' by those who casually toss the term around. So, if you're identifying as 'Caucasian European,' you might want to reconsider your terminology-or at least do a quick Google search before using it to make a point. Lol. This video has bias all over it. Starting with "Muslem apologist". There's no counter arguments by a Muslem here to either verify or negate made accusations. What a supposed apologists "might argue" is not a valid contrast or comparison. There are surely differences in the faith, dogma, and practices, as well as religious leaders. I'm sure there's also varied historical context too. A valid theological debate involves well versed representatives who are allowed to support own views. That's not what's happening here. That makes this video a propaganda and likely ripe with disinformation. A major clue is that at the end, the narrator who made a high contrast comparison then says, "The choice is yours" as if his villainization of Mohammed was not clear.

@@theriveroffaith852I write essay accidentally please forgive me I ask because I don't believe Islam existed before Muhammad, I believe Islam exists after Muhammad created it Muhammad claims he is a prophet and was prophesied then both christians and Jews together is against Muhammad This alliances doesn't make sense To even think of all these denominations that disagree with each other, all of these religious leaders that also disagree with each other, all bibles that have been written for centuries, both religions that hated each other Somehow reconcile to change their torah and bible specifically against Muhammad by changing their scripture doesn't make sense, to what advantage or profit to do this and how did they able to do that as the cost would be monumental to stealthy, quietly go every church and synagogue in the world to erase Muhammad's name in it without any historians to note this event down. Catholic, Orthodox, Apostolic even the Nestorian never even heard of Muhammad in bible Jewish Samaritan, many other denominations too For 600 years why would anyone not record, not a single testimony from all Jesus's disciples, the most important words from Jesus such as "A prophet will come named Ahmad" We believe he never spoke those words I don't think Muhammad is preaching the same god or even the same Abrahamic religion that both Jewish and Christian believe Muslim and Christian's god are similar but not entirely, both monotheist but Muslim and Jews don't believe god has the ability to incarnate to be fully human and fully god Christianity entire focus is Jesus being god Both Jews and Christians have great disagreement on the Islam version of Abraham's story on old testament and both agree what is written and what wasn't written in old testament, such as Abraham building Kaaba is not in any ancient jewish text and most likely fabricated. Islam is the only 3rd Abrahamic religion interpreted Old Testament that is very diverged from both Christian and Jews, such as Solomon being a virtuous man and his marriage to many women being considered virtue instead of sins, both Christianity's and Judaism's interpretation of said action was sin and not considered virtue. Islam believe Jesus/Isa is the messiah same as Christians but not god Meanwhile the Jews reject him being the messiah since they believe the messiah is supposed to be strong, liberating Israel from the enemy and crushing all their enemies Jesus is compassionate, forgiving and are against pharisees so they reject him. So they're still waiting for the messiah lol Conclusion: Religion of Islam exists after Muhammad and Christianity religion after Jesus Since the agreement on what was written on the holy book and interpretation is too great to consider Islam as an upgrade or continuation of Christianity
