Really interesting, the soul of adam is made of spirit (gods breath) and earth (material) in Genesis. In Kierkegaards view the spirit is the relational part, with the right relation to God being faith. But since the soul contains spirit there is also a spiritual relation from the soul to the body and from the soul back to God. The view Daniel seems to hold is that soul is more the unconscious part, but I think this might not be entirely correct since the human soul seems to contain both spirit and body. We could say this spiritual part is also present in animals, but probably just from soul to body and doesn't relate back to God. But the human soul could be different, both relating to the body (feelings) and relating to God and so relate to eternity.

Is the heart in the Napier sense an instrumental cause or efficient cause? Since he ties it so closely to scope of awareness, awareness can be either passive or active, at the same time awareness is so close to the 1st person perspective. Having a hard time distinguishing efficient from instrumental.

also when he talked about "zooming in, zooming out" does that mean the further u zoom in (moment to moment i guess?) the more u are like a beast or a fool? or is the zooming capacity always a good quality to have.

the deontological ethics and behaviour discussion is interesting. not really sure it matters from the 3rd person perspective. imagine i see 2 men and each of them are behaving (outputs) the same way but inwardly (the black box to the observer) one is coasting on the habits of the soul while the other guy is carefully attending through awareness every fluctuation of the soul and painfully fighting against it with his spirit. i imagine one day there will be a pill u can take with nanobots that will align your soul to a christian disposition for you. or align the meat in a way that the soul finds it easy to give the right outputs.

dude the social relations part with winsomeness kinda made me cringe. i've yet to see someone make a case for winsomeness without coming across as feminine. if u can make a case for masculine winsomeness i'm in.
