In Matthew, Mark, and Luke, here’s what happens:
1. Jesus takes communion with his disciples for the first time and tells them to continue the practice
2. There’s a bit of dialogue about which of the disciples will betray him (spoiler alert: it’s Judas)
3. Jesus predicts that Peter would deny him three times
John 13:1-5
Before the Passover celebration, Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his Father. He had loved his disciples during his ministry on earth, and now he loved them to the very end. It was time for supper, and the devil had already prompted Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God. So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him.
Our God is a God of love, and this shocking act fits perfectly with his character. He loves us so much he was willing to set aside his divinity to become one of us… to set aside his robe to wash our feet… to set aside his very life to free us from our sin and shame. It’s just who God is.
Jesus loves you to the very end. You don’t have to earn it. All you have to do is accept that truth and you can experience new life.
Jesus expects us to wash one another’s feet. He expects us to become servants to one another. And it has nothing to do with whether a person deserves it.

I am sad to hear this pastor call the bible nerdy It is the holy Word of God. This is ghastly to me Soooo sooo sad To speak so derogatory of the life changing eternal Word of the Most High god. Also never heard of Going away speeches of important people. Would like to see his source for this assumption.
