إلياس أو إيليا هو من أنبياء اليهودية الذي ورد ذكره في التناخ في سفر الملوك الثاني حيث ظهر في عهد الملك آخاب، وذكر في العهد الجديد عند تجليه مع المسيح ابن مريم ويعتقد أنه سيأتي قبل المجيء الثاني للمسيح.
يسمى في النص العبري للعهد القديم "إيلياهو" ومعناه الرب هو إلهي، كما يصفه الكتاب المقدس بالتشبي وذلك نسبة إلى تشبة في بلاد جلعاد. اسمه في اليونانية "إلياس" ويعتقد أنه هو نفسه إلياس المذكور في القرآن (كتاب الإسلام) بهذا الشكل "وإن إلياس لمن المرسلين" (الصافات123 والأنعام 185).

Peace be unto you. I'm sure that everyone here is missing out the point. Firstly, Jesus died on the cross in order to save whoever believes in Him, despite where he's from! It doesn't matter if you're Brazilian (me), American or Saudi Arabian, the thing is that the Holy Spirit is here on Earth calling out a people who belongs to God alone. The Spirit of God, in every nation, calls persons out of this world and its system, including politics, to worship and serve their real King, Jesus Christ. For us, born-again Christians, it doesn't matter what country we are in or what kind of government we are under, WE DON'T BELONG TO THIS WORLD!!!! If nations are against nations, that's not a surprise for us who know the Word of God, instead of accusing each other countries and their governments, we have just to proclaim the good news of God's salvation, JESUS CHRIST!!! In the end, Brazil, America, Saudi Arabia and all other nations of this Earth will come to an end, but God's words and His people from all nations and tongues will remain FOREVER!!!! This is probably the most accurate filming of scripture I've ever seen. Even the chronology is honored. Very good piece. Too bad this isn't done here in the West. Jesus said Elijah is coming and will restore all things. Peter also said the heavens must hold Jesus until the restoration and arrival of The Prophet who will be with Elijah. I don't get why people are looking for Jesus before all of this comes to pass. It will not be the prophets of old but 2 witnesses like them are coming and their arrival is immanent!

Yes I did like the production. I was looking for the taunting too. It was an interesting piece nonetheless. John was a "type" who did the works of Elijah as Gabriel prophesied but Jesus identified another during the transfiguration. Elijah has not come many times, literally or figuratively, if I'm understanding you correctly. The bible reveals exactly how many witnesses are given and "many" is wholly inconsistent. However, I must agree that he is here now. As a Refiner, I assure you I know fully what it means to be 1 with the Father. Still, it was a good video!

I find it is very timely to hear quoted Malachi 4:5-6.Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. 6 And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” I see God promised another Elijah before the second coming of Christ.It is interesting how God choose's His prophets. Exodus 12:14 God commanded the Passover liturgy to be "forever". In the OT, could a Hebrew/Jew only "symbolically" eat the unleavened bread and meat of the lamb? I think we all know the answer and ask any Jew who celebrates the Passover even to this very day. So, what does Jesus who was being liturgically consistent command us to do in the upper room while celebrating this "forever" feast? John 1:29 and 1 Corinthians 5:7 "For our Pascal Lamb, Christ, has been sacrificed". The Exodus 12:14 "forever" command puts in proper context what Jesus commands us to do in John 6:53-54 to have ETERNAL LIFE and for death to "Passover". The fire of God made a difference of which the first was lightning but the second was the holy spirit on the day of Pentecost. The acceptance of Jesus' sacrifice initiated the coming of the Holy Spirit. The fire of God will destroy religion and self effort, only true worship pleases God. The Prophet Eliyahu, was one of the true Prophets of G-d. The film has some truth to it, the story I have read many times, the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, has an everlasting covenant with Israel, it is not for us to judge Israel, for Israel has a judge. He gives to and takes from whom He wills. The G-d of Israel is One! Moshe and Eliyahu will return, and prophesy for 1260days(Revelation 10), then they will be destroyed by the beast, then will be a great earthquake. Then Israel will yearn for their true mashiach. Then the beast will reign for a short period. Then tha Lamb Yeshua will return with his army(Revelation 14). The rest can be found in the book of Revelation. I'm a G-d fearing gentile who lives in the west, I have no fear of man(Matthew 10:28). Shalom.
