And of equal importance- they could dance! My nickname in my family growing up was Pugsley. As Charles Bukowski wrote: "The days run away like wild horses over the hill."

This show had some incredible talent. Little Wednesday was quite an amazing little dancer, combined with Ted Cassidy, they created a great comic scene. And Caroline Jones... well she had a beautiful sexy and sophisticated comical charm that was truly mesmerizing. Matched with the comic eccentricity of John Astin, they were wonderfully paired. Astin’s cigar smoking Gomez often echoed a touch of Groucho Marx, interestingly Nat Perin, the series producer was a close friend and wrote for some of Marx’s movies... coincidence? I just noticed it more in reruns. I think this show being produced by Filmways, added to the amazing quirkiness of the show. Filmways shows such as Green Acres and Beverly Hillbillies had a unique satirical twist, uncommon in most situation comedies, and not really appreciated until years later.
