It doesn' t matter where Buddha was born, but most importantly, he was raised in Kapilvastu, UP, a Pipranwa in Uttar Pradesh and Tilauakot in India and Nepal border and later attained Enlightenment in BODHGAYA, INDIA. BUDDHISM WAS FLOURISHED IN INDIA AND WAS TRAVELED TO TIBET DURING BC Via Prominent Indian Scholar.

@willybilly99 NOT yet confirmed by any Historians, when he was born, he was just a Siddharth Gautsma of King Subhodhana and queen Maya of Shakya , an ancient clan of Aristocratic,Oligarc South Asian Border. But after Education and Meditation in Kasi, Varanasi, Siddhartha Gautama attained Enlightenment in Bodhgaya, India, became Buddha. Therefore, his Buddhist practice and place of Enlightenment are given more Importance than his Birthplace. When he was born, WHEREVER,he was NOT A BUDDHA.
