My first PS1 game, and still my favorite. This is the game that, when I was 7, made me want to grow up and start a company so I could build Jet Motos. That's still a lingering fantasy.

This was the first PS1 game I had ever played (on my old friend's system, back around 96) and we had a ton of fun racing each other back then. It was the tracks that made this game so awesome, I was partial to Ice Crusher. Best racing game on the PS1 imo, though single player is so mind-bogglingly hard that I'm not sure the computer plays "fair"... I tried making a new save recently but I couldn't unlock all the tracks because it was so difficult! I must have really lucked out a long time ago.

Yeah, this is Jet Moto 2, since this is Ice Crusher's song in the first one. In the original, this track has a punk rock-style song that used a sample of a car burning rubber.

man this brings back so many memories second playstation game i ever owned the music was and still is epic. it is wayyyyy fun to play. i was partial to the 3 stages of this area, the heaven hell one, nightmare, cyprus hills area, rollercide, the shaft, the really broken up mountains area, and the city basically all the stages were awesome. why couldnt they make more?

Yes I think the only difference was that they payed the sponsors to be in the game instead of the other way around. Chef Boyardee was another sponsor and I think I remember them doing commercials or at least labels promoting it.

today it's just a focus on realism and they started mixing genres but there's definitely a problem with a lack of over-the-top games. When realism so much dominance that unrealism is booted out, we have a problem.

Racing this track on Jet Moto 2 just shows you how much harder Jet Moto 1. Racers like Dakota, Wild Ride, Miko, Quick Jessie would just fly away super turboing, and even if you turbo'd too, you couldn't keep up with them.

The reason that Jet Moto 3 sucked was because it was it was developed by 989 Studios. Same thing with Twisted Metal 3 & 4, they both sucked and was developed by 989. Ironically, both Jet Moto and Twisted Metal were made by Singletrac.

Jet Moto 2 was the best of the series. Jet Moto 1 and 3 were to easy to beat. And Jet Moto 3 had terrible graphics!

Turning controlled by D-pad, rotational pitch change with L1/R1, roll pitch controlled with l2/r2. Takes four fingers on four triggers and some damn finesse to be a flawless pro at this game.
