Scenic lakeside campsite 15 min from Rotorua; The lakeside campground is a popular swimming spot. Bring the kayak or paddleboard to explore the lake surrounds. Fish along the shores of Lake Ōkāreka. Note: Fishing on this lake requires a licence from Fish and Game Eastern Region. If you do something on a shoestring, you do it using very little money.

Yes. Lake Tarawera is the best one for that in the Bay of Plenty.
