Jet Ski Fishing setup! Rack review and future projects

Unfortunately after searching for months it is almost impossible to find a good video on setting up a jet ski for fishing. So I figured id make my own! Heres how i set up my ski and rack. If you have any questions feel free to ask! Have a great one :)

Great Video. I am rigging a 2015 FX HO. I bought one of the front arches & mounted the fish finder on it. I will be using the rooster tail for a live well feed too. Can't wait to get to Sebastion to try it out. I installed a second battery with an acr. It all can get a bit pricey but I figured do it once, do it right. Look forward to seeing what else you do.

Mike.. Nice Ski. I have the same Rack - works real well for me. You mentioned the 'method of attachment'. When you buy the Rack new, it comes with a length of chain, like yours, to attach to the tow Hook. I find the Racks mounting should fit almost any PWC. My SeaDoo GTI has a very short Deck and no Trailer Tiedowns so the 'C' Clips work really well. i prefer not having feet which might dig into the deck padding. I also mounted rocket Launchers to my Rack and (Trolling) Rod Holders in front like yours. I have Boat-style fixed Rod Holders on long legs at the rear when i don't take the Rack. As for storage, try getting inexpensive, insulated Saddle Bags. The center section fits under the Seat and keeps everything secure. The Insulation keeps bait and drinks reasonably cold for awhile. If you get inexpensive Bags, you don't feel bad throwing them out after the 3rd year in the sun... (Tackwarehouse.com - no affiliation) Try Jetskisportfishing.com for ideas - good group of people

Which is better a Yamaha fx cruiser ho or a sea-doo gtr 215

i would prefer the fx ho for fishing. I got a great deal on my cruiser (cheaper than the regular fx ho) so I couldnt resist :) Im not a fan of the sea doo closed cooling system I know a few guys that have sea doos and they have had some issues. One has 18 hrs on it and needs a wear ring already. Ive had no issues with the yamaha except for the fact that it doesnt like fuel with ethanol even though they say regular 87 will work. I run 89 non ethanol and it starts every time.

What speed do u go to save gas

I usually cruise around 30-35 anything faster than that is pretty much useless unless its completely flat and glassy.
