Jet2 Boeing 757-236 Manchester to Lanzarote | Full Flight

Hard to believe it's been over 4 years since my last flight on a Boeing 757, and with Jet2 being one of the last remaining passenger operators of the type in the world, let alone in Europe or the UK, I was very happy to see an aircraft change from the A321 to the 757 on both of my flights for this holiday to Lanzarote!
Today's journey started at around 06:00 at Manchester's Terminal 2. After a quick transfer from the car park and a very easy check in and security experience, we were airside awaiting the 08:35 departure. Jet2 had been fantastic in providing updates regarding French ATC and Ground Handling strikes and warned of potential delays. I had noticed on FlightRadar24 that our departure was now estimated at 09:59. Fortunately this was not the case and we were bussed out to a remote stand to board the Boeing 757 on time. Ironically the frame for this trip was G-LSAJ, a 32.9 year old aircraft that just happened to be the aircraft I flew on my last 757 trip back from FUE in 2019.
Despite bus boarding through only one door, we were ready to go fairly promptly and pushed just a few minutes behind schedule. Taxi out to 23L was quick and we were soon underway with a fantastic sounding takeoff courtesy of the RB211's. Once at cruise it was time for the usual pre-order breakfast, which as ever was very tasty, the only change to previous trips is the replacement of the brownie desert which is now a Chocolate Mousse, very nice I will say! Thanks to a favourable tailwind we completed the flight in a relatively quick 3 hours and 33 minutes, making a spectacular approach into a sunny but gusty Lanzarote, eventually parking around 20 minutes early.
As always, top quality experience with Jet2 from start to finish. Manchester Airport seem to have ironed out the majority of the issues that plagued them last year so the airport actually seems to be running efficiently. The aircraft and cabin were in fantastic condition, especially considering the aircraft is over 30 years old. The pre-ordered food was tasty and delivered promptly by the fantastic cabin crew. Finally despite the initial worries of slot delays and CTOT's, we arrived comfortably ahead of schedule. An all round excellent experience!

I was on a Jet2 737-300 last week, despite being almost 30 years old it was as good as new. It is however time to make the most of those and the 757s as there aren't many years left of their ops with Jet2.

I think this must be an ex BA 757 or a cancelled order because the -236 denotes the series 200 and the 36 is BA’s customer number with Boeing. Nice video.

Thanks! Yeah the aircraft started out with Air Europe who took on the surplus aircraft from BA's initial 757 order as it turned out they were no longer needed! 👍
