"Nothing Is Easy" from the same Stand Up album is a Tull classic. You will definitely love it. All 4 members have highlights: Bass, Drums, Guitar, Flute. FIRE!!

I saw Jethro Tull in concert in 1969. This album had just been released. I didn’t know who they were at the time and they blew my mind.

One of the grand daddies of prog. Love Ian Anderson and his band

Tull’s debut album, “This Was,” is full of blues influences, primarily due to original guitarist Mick Abrahams. He wanted to keep the band going in a blues direction, while Ian Anderson had other ideas, which lead Abrahams to quit Tull and found his own band, Blodwyn Pig. This song was the first cut on Tull’s second album, and kind of a holdover from the first. For more bluesy Tull tunes, try “My Sunday Feeling,” “Beggars Farm,” or “A Song For Jeffrey,” all from the debut album. Blodwyn Pig are worth checking out, too. They only put out two records, but I think both were pretty successful in England. I’d suggest “Variations On Nanos” as a representative track.

They started as a blues band, but opening their second LP with this song (and the chorus about "it's an old day now") turned out to be kind of a clue that they were leaving that style behind. They only did a few bluesy numbers after that -- "Up To Me" and "Singing All Day" you'd like. The song "17" has a bit of that feel too. They made one big return to blues-rock in 1991 when they dropped the prog entirely for an entire record on Catfish Rising. You might try "Roll Yer Own", "Rocks On the Road" and "Still Loving You Tonight" from that one. Cool channel!

You said you've heard most of the progressive part of Jethro Tull. I have to tell you you haven't even scratched the tip of the iceberg. Tull has 22 albums, and another one coming out soon. That doesn't count all their compilation albums, Box sets, Or live albums. Believe me, there is a lot more to hear from Tull. Throughout their career they have so many different styles,w and sounds it's hard to imagine, So you really do have a lot to discover with Jethro Tull.

Well, First three albums are bluesy. First one is not very interesting. Second one, Stand Up is very good. Benefit is great too. My favourite. I dont give recommendations for those two, just start from the beginning.
