I put Ian Anderson as #1 front man in all of Rock. Talent exudes, voice can fit all their styles of music, what instrument does he not play, he's fun to watch, personality, and....he rocks the flute. What other band even features the flute? He gives the flute many voices as well.

Loved your comments on music critics, Ian had an answer to one on the "Warchild" album. The track was "Only Solitaire" and it was aimed at one critic. Coming off the previous album "passion play" which got a bashing from critics, it is fair to say Ian holds the same opinions about critics you do.

Thanks for considering my suggestion to look into Rainbow, STB. To further clarify, I was mainly referring just to the first three albums, the ones that feature Ronnie James Dio. These three albums were very innovative when they came out, but after Dio left the band it went in a more mainstream direction that didn't really stand out that much from similar bands of the era, unfortunately.

Benefit, my favourite Jethro Tull album it also has my favourite Tull song "Nothing To Say", i've seen Tull numerous times (too may to recall), since first seeing them way back in 1968 and sadly since Benefit was released I have never seen them perform that song live, and may i say love your review.

As regards your question about critics, let me say this. I can't speak for all 20,000, but I'm guessing that most who love music don't give a damn about critics and just never read their garbage. When looking at an album, I may see how critics rate the album and read a few responses, but what I'm really looking for are what the members of the band say about the album. Usually, I agree with them, since most are pretty honest. Critics have issues. They're like the MSM, which I never listen to either, all attitude and hate little honest content. Hope that helps.

Hell Yes!!!! Tull! Ian is a genius. It’s all down to him not to diss the musicians. He wrote everything & was a hard task master. Tull & The Who r my number one bands depending on the day. Ian always changed it up so as u go through their catalog you’ll see drastic changes. Skip to Songs From The Wood and you’ll c what I mean. EXCELLENT album but completely different. And yes Ian is behind Freddie my pick for greatest frontman & in my top 5 vocalist. I’ve seen them sooo many times & their shows are phenomenal!

You’ll get there and you will see the progression of band with each album year after year throughout the 70’s to the 90’s - all completely different from each other. 1995’s Roots to Branches is fantastic

Rolling Stone is/was a bunch of pretentious a-holes. Critics need no qualifications. You ARE a critic. We all are. It’s all down to your feelings & personal tastes. They’re are bands I respect but don’t care for. I acknowledge their talent, sometimes exquisite, but simply don’t like them. A critic should be able to do that. Separate their personal likes from quality. i.e. very good tho not to my taste & explain why.
