@civictull9 ай бұрын

I must interject, however, that rising stars tend to shine brightest upon rising, however, Ian Anderson’s light has shown brightly for over half a century. Ups and downs of course, but his creativity and energy have never, ever waned. He is, and will always be, in my opinion, THE Renaissance man of modern music!

I don't think Tull ever had any illusions of being another white "blues" band from England, it was a base to start from and get their real music heard. Blues music was red hot at the time in England with the great Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac leading the way. Tull played blues and played it pretty good but their heart was in playing their own creative music.

This must be one of Martin barres first gigs as Tony iommi was at the rock n roll circus only a month earlier! Not taking anything away from mr barre but imagine a parallel universe if Tony had stayed and both sabbath and Tull had gone on separate paths ? What would the future of rock been like ? 😂

David O'List. Unique piece of footage from one of his only gigs
Extraordinary footage - lots of debate here about who's on guitar - 100% it's ex-Nice guitarist David O'List. Knew he'd tried out for the job but not that he'd gigged with Tull - here's proof. He sounds great here as do whole band, but Davy never that robust by all accounts and Ian a famously hard taskmaster so not meant to be.....great to see though.
