Thank you very much Harry for this nice app. I use it for no-fly zones (windmills), because distance is not always easy to estimate. Now i wonder; would it be possible to use this app also for helping to notify when you have passed for example trees which are in the landing path. I think this would require to be able to use customized soundfiles, like "Clear of trees", or "over runway" and also make this happen only when for example the gearswitch is activated (or even nicer when logical switch landinggear+full flap=true).

I know what you mean because I have that problem on the approach to landing at an airfield, but I just program in a normal no-fly zone and let it tell me that I have left the no-fly zone. However the delays in telemetry and the position errors of Jeti MGPS often mean that the model is on the ground before the app tells me that I have passed the trees!. However I will pass on your suggestion to Dave and see what he can do.

Bravo for this great app. In case of loosing a model during a flight, is it possible to use this app (with the maps) to help recovering the model lost in the country or forest ?
@cotswoldpilot2 жыл бұрын
Yes. Do not switch off the transmitter, if you do then the position will be lost, unless the telemetry is still working and the transmitter can pick it up.

Thank you Harry, this is a very nice and useful app. I am trying to implement it because our airfield obtained the permission to fly in a well defined area according with EASA rules on UAS (I live in Italy) so, I designed the map of the allowed flyzone in order to alert me when I am approaching the border. I have a JETI MGPS Sensor but it doesn't seams to be so reliable to do this job. If I approach the limit walking toward the board it announce me that I am crossing the limit within aprox +/- 6 meters but, If I cross the limit when flying, it seems introducing a delay that could be also 20 or 30 meters and sometimse it doesn't alert me at all. Higher is the flying sped higher seems to be the error. Is there any parameter that I should set to minimize this issue? If negative (maybe because due to the sensor limits) do you have any workaround to suggest me in order minimize this issue? Thank you in advance

There is always going to be some delay due to waiting for the information to come through the telemetry and then be processed in the transmitter. Tests have shown that this can be up to 0.8 seconds, which is a big distance for a fast model. Use the warning feature, perhaps set at 2000ms ( = 2 seconds). But a big problem is Jeti's MGPS, I get the same result as you do, at walking speed it is accurate but at jet model speeds it is not. It does not just lag behind the model, it makes big errors, up to 30m to the left or right of where the jet model is. I am going to try a powerbox gps and a mavsense gps but it will be many months until I know if they are any better

Is there any need to reset the origin as shown a few years back or does the DFM app take care of it this for you ? I have installed app and working and then I wondered if there was any need for that as you shown a few years back when showing the MGPS features
@cotswoldpilot12 күн бұрын
Not needed for maps app. Reset origin in mgps is only needed if you want to know distance or bearing

Thanks for this great app. One question about the two screens, Map view and triangle view. Which one talkes to me if I use an other telemetry screen?
@cotswoldpilot2 жыл бұрын
The app talks to you, not the screens.

I have a question regarding your APP. Will it work with Powerbox GPS' and Powerbox systems. So if the GPS is going through powerbox mercury will it work to give map updates?
@cotswoldpilot2 жыл бұрын
If you can see the gps data in sensors and logging menu, it will work

@@cotswoldpilot Thank you for the quick reply and it works if I go in and set it to that gps sensor. So quick explanation. If I hook the GPS sensor directly to my jeti RX it works great and will auto find the gps sensor and field. If I run the GPS through the powerbox...it will still work but I have to go in and tell the APP to use that GPS sensor. I went back and watched one of your videos and figured that out. If you need someone to send GPS data through a power box so it picks it up automatically I would be more than happy to assist. If needed I also have a couple of different power box models I could send you gps data from.

Hello Harry It is possible to change the color for the ribon Now i have only blue Thank to reply
@cotswoldpilot2 жыл бұрын
That is because you have selected a telemetry item to colour code the ribbon. Select none and it will be yellow

Hello Harry Question I need to install all the Map in my transmeteur ? I need to reset origine point chaque Time i change to place ? Tank you to replye Sorry for my bad inglish
@cotswoldpilot2 жыл бұрын
Hello Luc, if you have made and installed a map of an airfield, the app will automatically find it and use it when the radio is switched on and the GPS has found its location (takes a few seconds for the GPS to find its location). It does not use the GPS origin. You only need to reset a Jeti MGPS origin if you want numbers related to the origin location like Distance, Azimuth. Other brands of GPS set their origin at the location where they are switched on. You can program a Jeti MGPS to automatically reset its origin, see kzbin.info/www/bejne/rF6le4GbntaDndE
