Harry The EXT cable black plug needs to be used for output of data to telemetry but what if anything is the red plug cable good for? Does it need to be plugged into anything?

As an addendum to the previous post; I was planning to use the LUA app for the airspeed announcements on approach. Then I may put in some alarm airspeeds it is not apparent to me that I have to use the red plug input to do any of that? Or maybe it is?

Do not use the red plug and ignore almost all the instruction manual. It is written for people using jetibox with a jeti module in their other brand transmitter. Hence the alarms etc are all set in the mspeed. When using a jeti transmitter, set all the alarms etc in the transmitter.

Are you required to use a vario with the speed sensor or can you use the speed sensor by itself? Thank you in advance!

Speed sensor does not need a vario

Hye Harry, whatt could be the reason that I do not see the velocity (or any other) at the EX Parameter field? Use a first gen DS-16 with standard Mspeed for testing with a R4 reciever (when it works will be installed in a Gloster Meteor).

The R4 does not allow telemetry sensors. Use a proper Rx

@@cotswoldpilot I do see the speed on my DS-16 screen so that works. But I have the same ‘issue’ as I connect it to my R14, I cannot select the EX parameter.

I intend to, I have 2 large Nimbus gliders ready to do this but the weather is not letting me go flying and get used to how it works :-(

Great video as usual Harry! I believe it's similar with the altimeter, right? I'm planning to set an alarm when flying in thermals with my glider.
