Personally , any place that I need to pay a fee especially when it's a tourist area is not cheap ..... most of the time.... but then again, the money is used or invested back for services & maintenances ...so I don't complain that much... As usual , river cruise , waterfalls....and a rainbow too....... Can't get better than that.... As usual, stay safe, happy travels....

I used to be the Chief Mechanical Engineer at the mine. I left for Australia in 1982, before the mine closed down. My parents and both my grandfathers worked at the mine. I started as an engineering cadet in 1963, and there was not the high fatality rate then, any more than in other professions. The mine tunnel you went through was named Bell's Adit. It connected Tai Pei Tong to another mine on the other side of the hill called Myah. You only went in a short distance. The RM1 Million heist legend is something made up. There are no rich ore seams left at that level, or even at the flooded underground workings, some going down to more than 2000 feet (660m) beneath the surface. The legend may have it's roots in the fiasco with the staff not being paid their due wages and superannuation when the mines closed, and some of them prevented the liquidators from taking away the heavy equipment that was salvaged. They were deemed unsecured creditors and would have been last in the queue for any money owing. I wasn't there by then, and it is based on anecdotal evidence related to my former colleagues. I last made a visit in 2012, and things have changed a lot. Congratulations on a good story, mate.

Sungai Lenbing is one place that i learned in Geography in School back in the 70ties, it one of the few tin ore mine extracted from tunnel. But sad that i never been there before. After watching your video, perhaps i should plan to go there. I see both of you enjoy Malaysian fruit but has you ever try eating fruits Malaysian style that is the fruit being dip or sprinkle with asam bueh ( dry plumb powder). Asam bueh will bring the taste of fruits to another level. So to any fruit stall tat sell pre cut fruit and ask for some asam bueh to eat with it. Fruits tat taste nice with assam bueh are pineapple, green mango, guava, rose apple and ambra.
