@skeletonrebellion14 сағат бұрын
After learning about the recent Athletic article about Woody Woodpecker and his Richie Rich sons stupidly interfering with the fragile Jets locker room culture, I got to give respect to Gruden's fire and passion along with his interest in wanting the Jets HC job because I sure as hell wouldn't want the job because of that type of dysfunction that's making the organization and the loyal fan base look like a punchline for a bad tailgating joke.

I like gruden for one reason. He has the reputation and the ego to work under the Johnsons. He has the clout that when he speaks maybe they will listen. When Douglas said he serves at the pleasure of the owners that was disgusting. Gruden is a guy who won't be afraid to tell woody or the kid, hey you don't know shit about football so shut the hell up, you hired me to do a job now get out the way and let me do my god damn job. I don't think there are many candidates that would either do that, or not get immediately fired after doing that. Who knows I can see Salehs last day as the coach going down that way 😅
@ford289cid717 сағат бұрын
The coach does serve at the pleasure of the owners. They use that expression in government all the time-how an appointed post "serves at the pleasure of the president", meaning he can fired any time for any reason. Douglas just stated the facts.

Ian, you nailed it at the 4:30 mark. The Jets need someone with a big enough personality to stand up to all of the stuff that the Jets put Saleh and JD thru. The situation is not great for the next few years. Maybe one more year of Rogers and no QB of the future in sight. A $65 million cap hit in 2026. Why would a first time head coach want this.?!?!?!?
@frankwhite223019 сағат бұрын

I want Jon Gruden for Head Coach. I'll take Rex or Vrabel as Defensive Coordinator. Trade back in the first round of the draft 2 or 3 times to the 22nd pick or after - try to pick up 1 or 2 first rounders for next year, be prepared to trade out the first round entirely, get multiple picks through rounds 2 through 4 this year + next year if possible, trade back again once in the 2nd for more picks through rounds 3 through 5 for this year and next year if possible, and then roll it back again with Rodgers and the current squad. They need a right tackle. If the college prospects are crap then they'll need to get a stellar right tackle in free agency or through trade. An upgrade at center would be good too but it might be out of reach if the draft doesn't have NFL-caliber offensive linemen available.

In other words, what response could any of these guys have other than "I think it's a great roster" lol?
