Ian, I am prob alone in this thought. but when someone is looking for a HC, we say "oh the Belichick tree and the Shanahan trees are the elite future of the nfl"... so for a GM, you could say the same for "oh this GM learned from his days back in the higher offices of teams like Baltimore and Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh". With this method of thinking, I think Joe Douglass WAS NOT the problem in NJ.. It seems he was handcuffed along the way. He was brought up in Baltimore and Philadelphia... I think at this point, a complete remodeling of the NYJ needs to happen. Sell the team to Jeff Bazos, hire Dimitroff as GM, and hire Rex as DC and Vrabel as HC. Lets run it back with the core w/Rodgers at the helm for 1 more year. Rodgers isnt the issue at all. He has been a model citizen while in NJ... Would it also be a stretch to trade Breece int he offseason, while being 100% onboard drafting Jeanty in rd 1???

When people say “the culture has to change”, it’s not just referencing on the field and in the locker room. It also refers to upstairs in the front offices. Pittsburgh office has a culture of finding leadership and giving them room to work. Philly front office has a culture of being tactically aggressive with personnel acquisition. The Jets front office culture really is leaking to the press about decisions and actions of an owner and it’s well deserved given the prolonged outcome. Woody seriously needs to look at Jerry and admit that he’s his less successful football cousin and give way to a president of operations Dolan style.

They are always in a situation where they can take the best player available. I remember, when the Steelers drafted TJ Watt, thinking "How did no team before them draft him?"
