Jetstream 41 tutorial basic flight part 1 FSX PMDG HD

Part 1 of my multi part PMD jetstream 41 basic flight tutorial series. In this part i cover shutting the aircraft down from initial load in, to geting the start locks set and a basic overview of the cockpit.
Part 1 is preflight, startup, fmc and systems setup through taxi to the runway.

I used to work at a sim shop that had a J-41 full flight simulator. I used to love the flight that thing. It flew awesome. It was much configured like the FSX models here, Honeywell avionics, just nice. And yes, as the guys say, these engines like to start hot, it can get away from you, just like the old YS-11.

Condition levers are used for an aborted start as this will shut off the fuel valves manually in the event of an electrical failure. The correct procedure is to press the stop buttons to 'purge' the engines and as the rpm drops prior to 50% pull the power levers into reverse to place the props "on the locks".

Well, according to the PMDG AOM part 4-3-114 normal procedures, you use the overhead stop buttons for a normal shutdown, but yes i dont need to use the latch button. But hey, we can all try and nitpick everyone right ;)

From memory (1998) it is the vibrator for the SBY ALTimeter.

Open in \FSX\PMDG\JS4100 the file "PMDG_BAe_JS4100_ConfigManager.exe", and select under "Virtual Cockpit Model Options" the setting "Medium Version - No icing effects / wings & props included".

My computer locks up and says it ran out of memory. I maxed out the RAM at 16. still says my computer ran out of memory. What do I try next?

Two points for factual accuracy: Start locks have nothing to do with the red button latches for the condition levers. And your shutdown technique is incorrect. The Stop buttons on the overhead are there for an aborted start. To correctly shut down the aircraft and set the start latches you leave the Power Levers at idle/F1, press the red button, then draw the Condition Lever to idle/cut off. As the engine shuts down you draw back on the power lever and this sets the latches.
