Ricky Carmichael, james Stewart, Ryan villapoto all suffered acl injuries and came back to win at least 1 450 class title. Acl tears are more of a minor setback for a career now. Jett will be just fine.

I don’t know we will see the part that Concerns me is he was Relatively lucky avoiding injuries requiring surgery until last summer. Tore the UCL in his thumb and made it back for the SMX playoff But since he returned from the UcL injury he ran three SMX playoff rounds. He race Paris Sx and then Australia and he didn’t even run the entire event because he crashed and they didn’t have parts for the bike So he ran less than ten races since coming back from the UCL tear. And he’s out now with a torn ACL? Three SMX races , Paris Sx , call it half of the Australia Sx. And three full rounds in 2025 SX and half of round 4. He raced 6 events really and crashed out on the other 2. Started the season. He had been getting lazy and he trying to fix that so has two injuries requiring surgery and his comments about being lazy and trying to fix it earlier. This year means to me I’m worried he’s distracted. I hope he’s all right. I hope he’s fine but I think anybody From his Fans , family , everybody at HRC and even Jett. Himself aren’t some what concerned

Imo with him missing alot last year then only a few races this year will make him more hungry. I forgot who it was that went through injuries in the beginning of therr 450 career then had a few crash years but came back and grabbed a few championships in a row. The ole saying you don't know what you got till its gone comes into play

I tore my ACL in 1983. The doctors had a difficult time getting it repaired and said it would never be stable again. That ended my Pro Motocross career.

ACL surgery is quite a bit better now than it was in 1983. The mental aspect of the injury may be harder to over come.

I tore mine in 86 and they just cut the loose ends and fixed the meniscus. Been living without an ACL since. Raced with a knee brace for many years and re injured it several times. Had another surgery to clean up the meniscus and now at 64 I mountain bike 3 days a week and the knee is still holding up🤞🏻

100%, luckily he isn’t playing Rugby, but lots rehab, minimal cartilage damage, ACL reconstruction surgery works well for SX/MX , motorcycles in general because you’re generally always working the knees up & down with not to much side movements. ( just don’t dab the bastard, or you will no it ) . Time will tell, every individual & injury is different.

its not really but you dont necessarily need an acl at 100 percent to perform what we do, you can work around it. Thankfully we dont pivot and twist much on a bike.

I’m in month 4 of rehab of my acl/meniscus surgery and am still no where near 100%. I’m just now starting to ride a little. My knee is healing but is still very weak. Hope he heals faster than me. I’m only 24.

Lots of us have mate, it sucks, but… stick to rehab, don’t rush into thinking it ok. Thousand miles on Exercise bike, 1 million toes lifts, 1 million squats, plenty of stretching 👍. I hope you keep recovering, I’ve busted both knees, multiple times, multiple operations. Body will heal, ya just gotta keep it moving & be careful while recovering.

I had the same surgery on my left knee and wasn’t allowed to even try riding until I was at the end of my recovery which was 9 months because of the risk of crashing. 4 months for Jett is a major long shot but I hope he does heal fast.

So bummed to see that happen live. I think Jett really pushes the rest of the competitors so it’s sad to see him being out for while. I will say, I don’t think he’s ever been the same since breaking his thumb in that outdoor 2nd race last year. First rounds of MX he didn’t seem as aggressive or smooth as usual. Maybe it’s the new bike but he seemed off. Then this leg happens, big bummer but wishing the best recovery Jett! Come back better and stronger mate!

For everyone saying ACL isn’t a 4 month injury like Jett said; Yes, for a normal human that gets to do PT 3-4 times a week max, that is correct. The same is not always the case for a professional athlete who gets to do PT twice a day everyday. These athletes are in significantly better shape than us and have access to significantly better resources. With that being said, every body reacts differently, so No, you do not know better than Jett’s doctors do and neither do I. I had reconstructive surgery for a full tear of my ACL/MCL/Meniscus and was completely released for all activity 6 months later doing PT only twice a week. 4-5 months seems like a reasonable timeline for an ACL and partial meniscus for a 21 year old professional athlete

hold on guys... big difference between tearing an ACL and popping it completely. healing times are still long, but way shorter than one that was sewn together. i hope he sits out all of 2025 so as not to be fragile, but if the tear is less than 50% it will explain a faster bounce-back timeframe.

Full recovery back to competitive sports like soccer, football etc after ACL surgery is almost a year. Jett may be able to get back quicker as his sport doesn't require as much pivoting motions.

But every movement isnt just body weight its a bike plus gravity and hard accelerations and decelerations. Stiffen your foot and flare your toes and your knee muscles are engaged through your calf. Riding too soon can derail a career

i just got done with this injury, i treated it extremely aggressively, i highly doubt he'll be back in 4 months without some PEDs unless hes going to ride hurt still, best not to do that. He'll be back, the docs are good now days. Best of luck to him. Daily rehab incoming.

Johnny O'Mara had his career detoured by an ACL injury. Damon Bradshaw had his career detoured by an ACL injury. While others tear theirs and never get it repaired and do just fine. Jett is young, so we he should be okay coming back from surgery and rehab but time will tell.

Moto guys making big money and sponsors depend on their presence , should not get acl surgery!Muniscus yes, acl no. ACL is not a high priority and intense training to give stability is all that is needed. ACL injuries repaired have a high probability to tear again. Time and money wasted! NFL is full of players with no ACL in at least one leg.
