When you hook a fish, especially ling cod, and they go under a rock or into a snag the best thing to do is to just give them free line and wait. Almost always they will swim out again as soon as they no longer feel the tension of your line. I've had big ling cod do it more than once during a battle.

Also dude I'm so glad that Brent's getting you in his videos. His are great, but there's something about yours that is super under appreciated. Your editing is on point and your music is chill af. Not trying to be a jock hanger, but you do good work.

Nice vid. I used to fish that area with Texas rigged worms and a bullet weight with a bead. I wouldn't use as much weight as you guys but Texas rigged worms were highly effective

SO underrated! Watching how the fish bite the bait when fishing is always interesting, as you can feel every time they bite at the same time

Caught a 20 lb ling 15 years ago at that jetty. Same thing happened to me when it dipped into the rocks but I had a 65 braided line so I was able to get it out
