Synastry- Sun Square Partner's Moon

This is not an easy aspect, but it is an invitation to tremendous growth and learning. My husband and I have this and just celebrated our 20th anniversary this past June. Certain things did not come easily, or without effort on our early years. But as we grew together, we learned to communicate with one another, and that intentional effort created trust, respect, and an absolute belief in the other person's commitment. If everything came easy, I don't know that we would have built such a strong foundation. I guess my message is don't be scared off by difficult aspects, because they really can lead you to great places.

Nothing is doomed, but this aspect isn’t good. On the contrary, the trine between the Sun and Moon is one of the best in synastry. Easy flowing and complete comfort. Moreover, the Conjunction between sun and moon is overrated - too much energy and more likelihood of discomfort.

Very difficult aspect. I'm the Sun person. I could never connect to him emotionally in the way he wanted. I'm a Virgo Sun and was never as nurturing as he wanted me to be (but I thought I gave as much as I could). We divorced after almost 10 years of marriage.

I have this aspect in my own chart (Sun in Gemini, Moon in Virgo, exact to the degree). I've found that my relationships tend to work best when working with people in the same modality and with a Moon conjunction. For instance, one of my exes was a Sag Sun, Virgo Moon. There was a sense of emotional understanding, but also a sense that we didn't really understand the other person's ego - which in the end is easy to overcome if that emotional understanding is there. I've also talked to a Pisces Sun/Virgo Moon before, which was different, but similar in that the emotional connection really carried the day. My most damaging relationship was with a Virgo Sun/Scorpio Moon. He was a controlling ass. I don't think he valued me as I saw myself.

I have Moon Sesquiquadrate Pluto in tight orb, and yesterday and today I was totally disenchanted by a Capricorn sun. Everything was great, until it wasn’t. I honestly thought it would last. Now I’m left feeling disappointed and somewhat damaged. My moon in Aries is in mutual reception to Mars in Cancer, and he had many traits that I loved, but it still went sour anyway. I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. Maybe 2024 will bring something new?

+DGARLAND4444 You must live and let live. Expecting to be understood or "gotten" will only frustrate you. If you can let go of your need to be understood then you can begin to appreciate him for what he is, not be disappointed in what he is not. We tend to only focus on what is not working or what annoys us with this square and miss out on all the things we may have in common or like about someone. That can grow when we focus on it and is often- very often- reciprocated.

+Marie-Josée Charette If you have the same sun then that means one of you has the sun square the Moon, at least by sign. This brings issues with being happy because they don't know how to allow for both their wants and needs to be fulfilled. They are learning how to merge their light and dark in a healthier way. So, because the sun square moon person is struggling with this conflict the self, the fact that your Suns are conjunct will help some but not all. They may see you as the reflection of their own problem.

One of my best friends since high school / ehm and I guess we are involved in an on again off again affair- our suns square each other, our moons square each other’s suns, our moons square each other 🙈😂, his vertex, Lilith, Isis, and Destinn conjunct my sun by 0°, My Mars conjuncts his north node and IC - maybe that makes sense since I basically half way grew up in his family. His Venus is trine my sun and square my moon, and conjunct my pluto, trine my north node, and trine my AC. His Mars is sextile my moon, trine my Venus, opposite my Mars. And so on and so forth- we’re just friends and I don’t take the relationship that seriously so I’ve never studied our Synastry that hard before but when I actually looked at it I was surprised at how close it all was. My Mars is conjunct his north node/IC .. although since we have been friends more than half my life and his sister is one of my best friends and his mom was like my mom, maybe that’s makes sense somehow. I’ll probably study it now for fun. We didn’t start off that way right away though- we had probably known each other for ten years first 🧐
