Jewelry as Art - Peter Skubic Show in Munich | euromaxx

Jewelry as an artform is only about fifty years old but it's already found its way into a museum. As well as its permanent jewelry art display the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich also honours one particular artist each year in March. In March 2011 it's the turn of Austrian artist Peter Skubic.

No. It is a plate of cow horn on a simple looking but complex structure. My teacher Wolfgang Rahs designed and made this brooch years ago. Some in the series work like seesaws, others are completely static. It's always fun watching people fight against the urge to try and touch those and study their looks until they do and after they discovered whether it moves or not.
