I had a favorite necklace (I just didn't like the clasp). So I made a memory wire bracelet out of it. Now it's my favorite bracelet, lol.

I love that you explain the reason as to why we need a different pair of pliers. I can't count how many videos I've watched and they just say you need to have memory wire cutters. Thank you very much. I can't afford those but I do have regular old wire cutters that you find in an everyday store. I've been going through my jewelry cutters. Thank you. You awesome. I’ve learned to make the loop into a coil at the beginning and end of the memory bracelets, my question is how do I keep the sharp part at the beginning of the coil to not stick out so it could ripe clothing when it’s finished? Maybe as I’ve noticed you start making the end of the coil at the very end of the wire? Maybe I should try to make the rounds of the coil more even as I turn them? Thank you!

@ThisSouthernGirlCan3 жыл бұрын
If someone is just learning how to make a craft, why in the world would they run out and buy an expensive pack of beads, possibly only to find out that they do not like this style of jewelry making? It makes no sense to use glass or gem stone beads to practice. Until you can properly learn how to curl the ends of wire and practice your tension, use plastic beads. They will not shatter.

You cannot really adjust the size of memory wire, because of the way it is manufactured. You may just have to purchase the smaller kind, designed for bracelets.

@1:45 Memory wire vs. Jewelry wire. This is all new to me. what the difference? Is the memory wire just for making bracelets? Now stop laughing and give me a good link to get un-dumb! :D Oh, and Cute bracelet!
@judithphillips34365 жыл бұрын
David House Sr. Hi, the difference in jewellery wire and memory wire is this -: jewellery wire is quite bendable and can be used for earrings or stringing several beads to dangle off another piece jewellery, plus it can be reshaped up to to a certain point. Memory wire is a much harder wire and is usually hard to bend, and once it is reshaping doesn’t work. Hope that explains the difference. I discovered this from personal experience!
@Lapeerphoto5 жыл бұрын
@@judithphillips3436 Thank you. That's pretty clear. I suspected something similar, but this better explains it. I have some in my cart, but not sure if I'd use it, so I've not order it yet. :) Like you, I want to feel what it to know. Thanks again!

I think getting a piece of jewelry that is nothing like anyone else’s is great. I like individuality. That’s why I want to make my own jewelry and find beads that isn’t sold in stores.
