With the Ring shot - how tight were you shooting. I assume even though its a Macro Lens doesnt mean you need to be 300mm away?
@amandacampeanu Жыл бұрын
Can't quite recall how close I was but I used focus stacking for the ring. :)

Majority yes! I do fine the foam though not as good quality as MDF. I think the MDF can give a higher quality look

What lens do you use for jewelry photography? I have the standard 18-55mm and a 105mm macro lense

Did you use strobe light or continuous light for this?
@amandacampeanu2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I used strobe 😊 As mentioned in the video I had them on continuous so you could see my scene better while filming

Its really 90% about lightening. If you dont have those big fancy lights you are not going to come close to these results

This was awesome - thanks! I was wondering if you have any tips for how to get all of the jewelry in focus (without having to focus stack) when the jewelry is raised up closer to the camera (your example with the stacked foam platforms)? Your pic looked crystal clear, but when I'm shooting at a similar distance (5D, 100m lens, same aperture that you are using f/11), I'm finding that some of the jewelry is still a bit out of focus no matter what I do. Thanks for any advice!
@amandacampeanu Жыл бұрын
You're welcome! With focus you need to increase your aperture if you want more in focus - with jewellery though this can be tricky, especially with rings depending on how they're placed. Focus stacking solves that issue if you can increase your aperture.

Wow..I needed this 😂..I have a TON of jewelry that I would ❤ to list, but the images I have been able to take have not been good 😅. Your video has shown me that sometimes less is more. I thank you

Just wondering but what if you don’t have a camera but a iPhone would that work for the photoshoot?
@amandacampeanu Жыл бұрын
Any type of camera will work for a photoshoot, the quality just want be the same as the sensor size on an iPhone is quite small compared to that of a camera, so your images won’t be as crisp and sharp, which is really important if you’re doing jewellery photography professionally.

Where do you get these podiums ? Is there any way to build DIY props and podiums ?
@amandacampeanu2 жыл бұрын
I mention the supplier in the video 😊 They are from Moodelier. You can DIY yes but this definitely takes more time.

@@amandacampeanu thanks a lot. Appreciate your response. I’m a product photographer in Pakistan and I doubt that they will deliver the products here. Ergo, the dependency on DIY :(
