This is what the second amendment is for. She should have had the means to defend herself. Police can't make people safe.

I think they pulled out the gun after they looted and she chased after them. If they pulled out a gun as a robbery, I don't think anyone would have fought back. It gets tricky in CA. There is no stand your ground rule. So if they were trying to get away and you draw your weapon to shoot, it's no longer self-defense. There was a guy in SoCal that defended his home in his drive way, there was a shoot out. He got arrested.

@mdiesel23 California doesn't have a stand your ground law, but it also doesn't have a duty to retreat law. It's stand your ground by jury instruction

@AshGreen359 Oh nvm the LA case Vince Ricci had his CCW revoked after the incident after the shoot out in front of his home. California follows the castle doctrine. It applies when you're at home. I am not sure if it applies to place of work. It's possible, just not sure. Stand your ground/ no duty to retreat is the same concept but, it applies outside the home. That's like in Texas. Sacramento is actually CCW friendly last I checked though. There's some classes you got to take and a renewal process I think every year or every other year. Haven't looked into it in a while.

@mdiesel23 I have a CCW in California. . There are only a handful of duty to retreat states.

Yeah 4 - 6 guys. It's pattern recognition especially since we see this all over CA. Broad daylight looting is out of control. This time it seems like it started as looting then she chased after them. Someone took out the gun and shot her. Otherwise if this was a cut and dry robbery with guns drawn, I don't think she would have fought back.
