😊 Thank you Tanya! Very helpful patina video. Coffee grounds added for chocolate patina ... wow! I've heard it is not recommended to put pieces with pearls in liver of Sulfur solutions. Should we paint those pieces to patina them? Any other guidelines in regard to softer stones or beads? Thank you for sharing, so well, all that you do. 😊

You are very, very welcome!!! I personally never had any problems with pearls or any other stones.. and I use patina now for almost 5 years… but maybe it’s depends on quality of the stones… u can try to put just one bead and see what happens:) hope it helps ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Really in love with your work!! Thank you so much for sharing! Since you often use the torch to make ball wire ends, do you remove black oxydation due to the torch before using liver of sulfur to oxydise your piece of jewelry?

I’m new to this so please forgive me if these are two silly questions. 1) If you don’t use protective coating, what happens to the oxidized copper wire? What is the purpose of the protective coating? 2) Can one cut numerous pieces of copper wire in different lengths and place in liver of sulphur as you demonstrated (with or without coffee added) and clean and polish and then use those pieces of wire for wire wrapping and wire weaving? In other words, can you oxidize the copper wire and clean and polish it as the first step before making the pieces of jewelry? Thanks so much!
@4girlsjewelry Жыл бұрын
Copper wire will oxidize with a time… I love to protect with ProtectaClear so it can stay same for sometime… I guess u can put wires in liver of sulfur and clean and polish and use for ur project… I just like to do that with complete projects, just easier for me… and… there is NO SILLY question… ♥️

Your patina recipe is great, thank you. I've been using #E steel wool after i've used patina, but I am concerned about all those fine metal fibers floating around. It makes a mess and is not healthy. Do you use metal brushes? Also, what is that rectangular pad that you are using? I've looked for polishing pads, but do not see that type of pad.

Yes, I use brass brush, u can get in almost any local hardware store, I use it with soap, baking soda and water and u can polish the way u like

When you use protectaclear, do you coat the beads as well? I purchased the spray before I realized that you use the liquid, I read somewhere that you use 2 coats. I have not used it yet.
@4girlsjewelry2 жыл бұрын
i use liquid, and do minimum 2 coats, better 3. I try to not cover beads, but sometimes it is very difficult... it is clear, never ruin any of my beads

I never tried any other method. I know people use in past cooked eggs, cut in half and leave jewelry in tight container overnight with hard boiled eggs
