Hi Jocelyn I made this bracelet and it turned out beautiful and I'm pleased to say that whenever I wear it, I am told how lovely it is,asked where did I buy it and quite a few have asked me to make them one, or one for a gift for someone. It seems this design is admired by all ages. I entered this bracelet and a very intricate necklace into a competition. My necklace came 2nd and my bracelet came 1st. The judge left a comment 'so beautiful yet so simple, you must be very proud'. I am pleased to say I am very proud of my bracelet and the many I have made since. +Norma Coy I do hope you credited Jocelyn with the design. It is hers, and as a result, it is *her* copyright, and you don't have any right to submit it to a competition as your own, unless you have substantially modified it, but you did not indicate doing so. Absolutely no right at all. Copyright violations are *theft*! And passing it off as your own work in a competition no less... well, there are simply no words at all for the sheer audacity of that. It is completely outrageous. It's bad enough to sell stolen designs without at least crediting the designer, but this...! Unbelievable, simply unbelievable! It's even more incredible you'd even actually have the gall to brag of your theft right to the designer! Because obviously you did *not* credit her, or there is no way any ethical judge anywhere on the planet would have ever given you a prize for the piece, much less the kind comments. They would have disqualified you, and probably never let you enter that competition again. That prize actually belongs to Jocelyn, and if you have any integrity at all, you will now ensure that it is transferred to her and the record set straight with whomever sponsored that competition. When people steal other people's work like this, it is not only theft of intellectual property, but such behavior serves as a huge disincentive to artists like Jocelyn who are tremendously generous to continue sharing their designs. You may be inspired by her designs, but if you and others are going to steal them like you did, unless she gave specific permission, then why on earth would she want to keep sharing them? When you are "inspired" by a design, that means you use it as a *starting* point to develop your own variation or completely different work that may share some elements. It doesn't mean you copy it exactly and pass it off as entirely your own, *especially* in a competition. Oh, and don't bother deleting your comment, if that is even possible on KZbin. The Internet has already preserved it for posterity in ways you could probably never track down, but plenty of others still could, easily.

wendyannh that’s jumping the gun a little, very very harsh judgment on your behalf! ‘Copying’ (if we must call it that) is the basis of ALL art in all mediums. That’s what we (*humans) do. We COPY each other. It’s absolutely impossible for anyone to perfectly replicate another’s piece of work/art unless computer integrated machinery is used. I see no theft here, but I saw a lot of gratitude. Sadly there was also a lot of attitude. Chill the hell out ferrchrissakes Wendy!!

I love her tutorials, but want to add just a few tips I've learned from my own experience: 1) You can do this with 20 gauge wire, but it's much harder to make the turns uniform, since that gauge is so much more flexible. 2) Follow her lead and make the adjustments as you form the braid. You might think you can wait and adjust when the bracelet is nearly finished, but that doesn't work well because when you tighten one area, the adjacent ones automatically loosen. 3) Adding more Swarovski crystals makes for a more glamorous product, but you need to be careful to be consistent with the spacing.

I would love to see a tutorial on how to avoid tool marks. Some of my clients actually look for them, because if they don't see them, they don't think it's really hand made. Others look because they don't want tool marks. I do a pretty good job of either preventing or jiding tool marks, but I know there are a lot of people who would benefit from such a tutorial.

You have done a great job with the video. It has been fun to make these. I have a question though. When I make it with soft wire the bracelet is too soft and it catches on things and pulls out of shape. Do you have a suggestion for this? Do I try it using half hard wire?

+Marilyn Everton Also try hammering the piece with a rawhide or plastic mallet on a bracelet mandrel. That will work harden the piece without changing the shape of the wire. It shouldn't give you any trouble after that.

+UNICAYGENIAL ¿Sabes que hay 'apps' que pueden traducir páginas del web enteras, y también las medidas? Si use Chrome en el ordenador, hay un botón encima a la izquierda en lo cual puede hacer clic, que hará la traducción, y Google le dará las medidas si las entra como búsqueda. Además, hay apps para teléfonos celulares dedicado a conversiónes de unidades variados. Este no ayudará con los videos, por supuesto, pero cierto con el resto ;-)

cheri lapoint to remove masking tape from most wires aka non plated wire use lighter fluid. If you are using plated or color wire test first!
