Thanks for the great video. You mentioned you prefer silver wire vs. the artistic wire in your video. I see many types of wire online but what should I look for to ensure it is silver? I like the heavier gauges so if you could provide a link to where I can purchase that, I'd appreciate it.

I am not here to do something DIY to make it special. I gave up trying to find commercial lobster clasps that are not plated garbage mystery metal. That you for the guides! I know that these will not lose plating and tarnish.

I'm surprised you created a toggle without wrapped loops. I've watched too many customers tug and pull clasps on bracelets; they'd surely pull that loop open and then bring it in for repair.

What is the tool that you use in 8:08? I love your videos!!
@JewelSchool3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ximena! This tool is called a "wire rounder." It's used to file the ends of your wire. We don't' currently have one in stock at JTV, but a quick internet search might get you what you need. Also, you can use a triangle needle file. It takes a little longer, but does the same thing! Here is a link: www.jtv.com/product/triangle-needle-file/JST770?mcid=XSOjsyt Good luck and thanks for watching!

I LOVE your videos, But- I can't see what you're doing a great deal of the time. The background is too light and it's too tiny. I'm an old lady so is it just me? It appears no one else has this problem or are people just not saying anything? Again, the videos are still very informative and enjoyable. Thanks!

I'm surprised you didn't show HOW that "toggle" clasp works. Are we suppose to bend it to put it thru the loop? Only thing missing. Otherwise, good instructions.
@JewelSchool3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ma Wi! Exactly how you described. Just feed the bar through the loop and then angle it down so the other side will fit through as well! Thanks for the suggestion. We may include this in a future video tutorial!

Do they contain toxic metals? I want to make jewelry without any toxicity in them because a lot of cheap jewelry are made like that.
@JewelSchool Жыл бұрын
As far as we know, none of the jewelry wire we use is considered toxic. We would not be able to use it to make jewelry or sell it. The FTC is a great watch dog for the jewelry industry and works hard to prevent this kind of thing. Now, that's not to say that someone's skin won't have a reaction to it. Unfortunately, there are people with metal allergies. If you have a worry in that regard, it's best to stick to those pure metals like .925 sterling or Karat gold, which can get quite expensive. The wire used here is called Parawire. It is a wire that has a base metal, usually copper and it has a non-tarnish color coating in either a golden, silver or rose color. The best thing you can do is to research jewelry wire and pick the one that is right for you! Hope this helps!
