It will never cease to amaze me the level of cruelty people are capable of. Anyone who thinks people are inherently good needs to think again.

Listening to all these the Holocaust survivors' stories, I could say that the Europeans were envious because of Jewish tradition to keep their big families close, their solidarity, their education, their hardworking mentality, their capability to cope with any situation, their wealthy, their warm, clean houses, their delicious dishes, their strong awareness if their identity. All these Europeans have never had!

My poor mother was also from Carpto-Rus and Mrs. Slomovitz's childhood in the early-war years sounds so similar. Their fathers were both so dignified and were both friends with the school principal and they were both handy, refined, and educated, and at the same time so down to earth to get along with everyone. The same experiences with the Czechs, Ukranians, and the Hungarians. Also, if someone was taken away and managed to get back, they had to lay low not to be discovered or they would be taken away again (or worse).

All of the stories are so very sad but this lady's testimony was very special. Such a lovely warm person who went through such tragedy as a child and came through to be a thoroughly decent human being; not twisted by the cruelty she witnessed and experienced. I don't know how else to explain but I hear the child she was - her innocence, bewilderment, grief and fear. A truly remarkable person, indeed. It was an honour to listen!

Something tells me G-d is no Indian giver… the chosen shall remain chosen and preserve the light of g-d to let it shine upon the nations as an inspiration… Isaiah 49:6 ESV He says: “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth."

I don't know exactly what you're referring to- but I assume it was her comment about Christmas and the priest's anti-semitic screeds. I imagine his hateful sermons filled the church during both Christmas and Easter. Unfortunately, there wasn't a single season for anti-semitism in the Catholic church during those days.

And just imagine, the youth of today weep and claim PTSD after losing a job because they’ve dyed their hair purple, or because their parents stop giving them an allowance in their 30’s. These survivor’s stories stand in sharp contrast to the “traumas” claimed by Millennials and Gen Z.

Are you serious? You know who believed in Jesus? Himmler. Goebbels. Probably a lot of Nazis. And a lot of bad people throughout history. I don't think Jesus "living in your heart" does much when your entire family is murdered, when your culture is destroyed, and the world you knew ceases to exist. But I'm glad you have Jesus in your heart, because you obviously have nothing in your head.
