People have learned NOTHING. Atrocities still happen. Partisan and ethnic divides and national rivalries still tear people apart. NO ONE IS IMMUNE.

Why in the world would this interviewer allow all that noise in the background?? Sounds like the door was left open on purpose. This interfered a lot for all of this to be heard. Makes no sense. This lady is very interesting and I strained to hear her.

So proud, this strong wonderful woman is my great aunt! (My grandmother is her sister.) I just met her 2 times, she lived in the US, I live in the Netherlands, but she was so inspiring! I’m thankful het story is taped and on KZbin so I can hear her talk about our family history and everything they went through ❤️

What happened to her little sister Ursula Doris??? She forgot to mention her! She only mentioned one sister who was in hiding with her mother, and one brother! Ursula died in a concentration camp???

All this woman wanted was being like her father and being a mother and wife was really not enough for her. I noticed her sudden opening up and smiling when she started talking about finally reaching her goal after all the hardship and complications. Completely different attitude. The death of her husband was mentioned but no more than that. There are no emotions when she talks about her family. Her not willing to retire was understandable. She had a great need to be heard and acknowledged and circumstances held her back for so long.
