Finally an interviewer that actually sounds like she's listening instead of just rudely asking questions like so many of these. Thanks for telling your story... I'm sure it's not easy but it's so important for it to come from people that lived thru it.

Imre and Joseph Rochlitz wrote a book called Accident of Fate about Imre’s experiences running from the Nazis and fighting with Tito’s Partisans during the war-it’s a must read and absolutely riveting. He helped a lot of downed airmen escape the Germans and Ustasha including several men on my father’s B-24 crew.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I commend his integrity and perseverance in the midst of this. These testimonies demonstrate the stark contrast between those who committed the atrocities and those who survived them.

I am from former Yugoslavia - I live in Slovenia - Maribor. Here in mai - june - july 1945 were shot in one forest 40.000 to 70.000 of those Ustasa who tortured people 1941 - 1945. However, most of those were innocent. Because Croatia had from 1941 normal army called Domobrani and in 1944 dictator Pavelič made them all Ustaša. I don't know if You all ever heared that but in Slovenia in 1945 after the second world war around 300.000 people were murdered - mostly innocent, by the partisans - communists of TITO who was ment to be replacing Stalin after his death. In 1948 however Tito said no more Stalin here.

I have read that Jasenovac camp was even worse than Auschwitz, and that the level of cruelty was unbelievable. This very nice man gives an accurate description. God bless his soul and his family.

One can't even imagine the horrors this poor man saw. The things he had to do to survive, everything he lost. Unfathomable. Lest we forget.

Don’t forget that hitler was actually Austrian. Hence the reasons Austrians gave such a welcome after the annexation
