Great video! THANK YOU. We need more videos like this on the internet, more films on TV, more movies that show all the positives of the Jewish people, instead of only the negatives. I think all of us, but especially our young people are hungry for this positive feedback. They deserve it.

I remember a tale from a piece on Hank Greenberg. Disclaimer- I was born in Detroit in '56. I grew up listening to tales of Hank Greenberg. Anyway. When Greenberg went into the Army(drafted), he was in line in basic training. Drill instructor came up and said "I hate Jews. Any Jews here. Greenberg raised his hand and said I am Jewish. Drill instructor walks up to Greenberg(6foot4), looks up at him and says something to the effect of "well, not with you". In the video, Greenberg's son tells it soooo well.

I followed Al Michaels through 2 TV stations in Honolulu and was nicely surprised when he arrived in the lower 48 to broadcast different sports. I have always been a fan. He was man of the year at KGMB. I have known that some of my favorite sports stars, actors and other entertainment stars were Jewish, but never knew that Al Michaels was until 20 minutes ago. Hooray for Al. I really enjoyed this video and have watched several others about jews in every walk of life.

An interesting related story. Mendy Rudolph, Norm Drucker and Earl "Yogi" Strom (My dad) were the top 3 NBA referees through the 50's, 60's and 70s (and more....) with A LOT of personality! They were referred to as "The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost" of referees. My dad used to just shake his head and say, "And all three of us are Jewish!" and crack up!

Never forget that Hank Greenberg taught his teammate Ralph Kiner the finer points of power hitting in his one year with the Pittsburgh Pirates and both were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame! Jews have a long history of teaching. However , it is amazing that Hank Greenberg graduated from James Monroe High School in the Bronx and waa signed by the Detroit Tigers! Amazingly Arnold "Red" Auerbach graduated from my mother's alma mater, Eastern District High School but became a Hall of Fame coach and president of the Biston Celtics! He was clearly the greatest evaluator of basketball talent ever!

I'm not Jewish but as kid recall Mike Epstein of the Rochester Red Wings ( a minor league team ) hitting homeruns of the tapemeausure variety. Amazing power he had. From the Wings he made it the major leagues and had good career with 3 different teams Washington and Oakland. I believe he was on one the Oakland teams that won a World Series, thus getting a beautiful World Series ring. I read where he bought a ranch in Wyoming and raised cattle after retiring. He was a good player.

My grandfather's brother, Joss Shore, ran in the Milrose games alongside Harold Abrahams of Chariots of Fire. Story goes he was running down by the beach in Brooklyn, and some running club was running there and thought they'd show the Jew up in a race. He pantsed all of them, and they asked him to join the club.

Oh yeah, Patrick Bittan. I forgot about him. My old BJJ coach trained with him. I know of a world famous BJJ name, but out of respect for him, he is private and doesn't make it a public thing. Few others in the BJJ community as well. There are a number of other Jewish martial arts champions and/or high level players, but overall, I think they are known mostly for Judo. Gene LeBell being an old school Judo guy, but Israel had some podiums in sport Judo. While I saw quick pics of them in this vid, there wasn't enough focus IMO.

Not included here is Angelica Rozeanu, the woman who won the greatest number of World Table Tennis Championships in the history of the sport. She played for Romania in the 1940’s and 50’s, whose anti Semitic government tarnished her image with false accusations when she represented the country at the Tokyo Worlds, and she eventually emigrated to Israel where she died. Also ignored were many Jewish male World Table Tennis champions of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s like Victor Barna, Laszlo Belak, Richard Bergmann, as well as US’s own flamboyant table tennis great Marty Reisman.
