I prefer to use the salvaged shelf to put electric furnaces on. 1 shelf could fit 6 furnaces, and you save on space a bit Then you add an electric splitter for each level of the shelf, so 2 splitters, 2 branches (each branch out 10 = 3funace+splitter), and then you could use the second splitter output for the conveyors.

This is a nice and simple tutorial setup, but I've got experience in electricity now, so In have a better suggestion. - First, if you're using electric furnaces, you might as well use a medium battery because you've techtree'd through it already - Second, if you're aiming for a large setup, begin to techtree into wind turbines, because I begin to find solar quite inreliable due to the equational. Idk if it's bad weather or the batteries don't charge up fast enough. Third, every component uses 1 power, do putting multiple branches are wasting energy. Instead, I would recommend to use splitters for a large setup. It will save you a lot of energy in the long run.

Thank you for the suggestions. I wanted to go through the step of using the existing battery to showcase how that's done along with using the root combiner. But a medium battery definitely would be a better solution for expanding later.

also you can use igniter to turn on any wood based furnace and a sprinkler to turn them off if needed

Use 4 conveyors in all. 1 for raw ores, 1 to supply wood, 1 for finish product and 1 for charcoal. First thing you need to set limits to your wood and raw ore. Wood should be limited to a max of 8 and ore to a max of 5, hqm 2. connect the filter pass of the raw ore conveyor to the turn on of the wood conveyor, connect the filter pass of the wood conveyor to a timer and set the timer to 0.25 connect the power out of the timer to the igniter. Take an AND switch and connect the filter fail of both the raw ore and finish product conveyors to it, use the output of the AND switch to the turn off of the wood conveyor. No need for sprinklers and it will not randomly turn off. sometimes you need to flush a system for it to start but thats on a rare occasion. As you drop raw ore into the drop box it will be pull via the raw ore conveyor and turn on the wood conveyor which in turn transfers the wood and ignites the furnaces. When there is no more raw ore and no more finish products to transfer the wood conveyor is shut off. I do this all the time cause Im really lazy.

@@nicholass3892 if you are going to make a setup that complex, just use electric furnaces, if you need any charcoal just setup a few furnaces with a wood in and charcoal out box, it works well to have this in a compound if you have one and then you wont have to waste wood, only spend it when you need charcoal

Wouldnt it make more sense to put the switch before anything else? The way this was set up the conveyors drain the battery even if the furnaces are not running.

I didnt know you can link the furnaces like that. Thanks for showing us. But honestly, i would make it that when the furnaces dont receive anything, then the furnaces would automaticaly turn off. Most easiest probably would it be by connecting furnaces output into aditional small chest input and from that chest sort it all, then make that conveyor shut all furnaces off. Probably with OR switch or timer, basically anything that would help get more power to the shut off connectors (since electricity you get from pass fail is only 1). I havent built this system yet, but im going to. I started like playing with the electric things and this month i built button/transmitter activated timed garage door that automatically closes after certain time with alarm to warn you that the doors are gonna be closing with 2 white lights and 2 red lights. I basically tried to replicate how certain buses have their lights for lighting up the space and for warning you to not be at the doors when closing. Next im thinking if im gonna make like fully automatic ´´freight´´ elevator or something else. Its mostly so i learn how can i use every type of electric component this game has. Not for PVP purposes tho, because im PVE player. Im just so bad at PVP and most importantly i usualy dont have time or mood 24/7 to play this game, so please, dont spam me with hate comments for being PVE player.

Your first conveyer doesn't need filtering, it will only process and pull items that go into a furnace. Button to igniter above any furnace will turn them all on at once without needing power

Was mainly included to allow you to disable one resource from the filtering if you would like to easily fill your furnaces with a particular resource. Also, provides a bit of peace of mind that there isn't an item you can accidently put into the dump chest and it be sucked up and dumped into one of the furnaces.

you can achieve the same goal without splitter and with one conveyor less, just need to adjust filters in a different way: Furnace -> chest 1 -> conv/filter to chest 2 -> chest 2 -> conv/filter to chest 3 -> chest 3. Nicely made video, very clear.

I mean the fact that without a guide most people have no idea how rusts industrial and electrical systems work is proof in itself that it's not as simple as " the game does it for you " if you have to set it up and get to be rewarded for getting it right what's the issue? It's a part of the game and has been for a while it doesn't make the game any easier like it's not improving anyone's pvp or building skills just makes smelting less tedious ( I may have misunderstood your issue I'm not having a go at you just trying to figure out what you mean )

Power to a branch. First/left terminal to conveyers. Second/right to a splitter. Splitter to 3 more splitters. Splitters to furnaces. If stacked in nicely they fit on a square foundation with a half wall shelf either above or below them. Place boxes. Place first/ back row and connect to input conveyer. Connect to next 2 furnaces . Place first furnace of the next row and connect to previous row. Place the rest of that row and connect. Repeat same 3rd row same as second. Connect last furnace to either an industrial splitter or a conveyer. A simple in and out of this setup is 34 power with 9 furnaces. ⭐️Important note Turn on ech row before placing the next

@AVMMM
@AVMMM 11 ай бұрын
@@JfarrYT OK, great. So here's what you want to do: First of all, your end/target boxes could overflow, so what you ought to be doing is to funnel all your furnaces output into a large box first, using an industrial conveyor. Just for the sake of orientation, the conveyor leading from the furnaces to the separation box is going to be called conveyor B, and the conveyor that leads from your dropbox to the furnaces is going to be called Conveyor A! Now, what you're supposed to have is a system that sends material from a dropbox to the furnaces, and takes the output from all the furnaces to a collective Dropbox, from which 3 other different conveyors could pull materials to boxes for as long as there's room for them. If the sorted boxes are full, at least you'll have a compensation system of storage. Now here's the good part; You need to make an additional two AND switches! To understand what I'm going to do, let's assume you're going to have 3 furnaces only (if you'll have more you'll still be able to pull this off but with an expanded system, let's just stick to 3 for the sake of the example). You pull power from the "Filter pass" jack of conveyor A (which is free power) and plug it to one of the input jacks of your first AND switch (we can call it A as well). The output of AND A switch goes to a splitter, which splits 1 power to each "turn on" jack of every furnace. Give AND A second jack 4 power as well. Once you've done that, the furnaces will turn on as soon as you drop materials in your dropbox. We are going to repeat this process with AND switch B, only this time we'll be plugging the "Turn off" jacks on each furnace, to AND B by using a splitter, and don't forget that this time we are using conveyor B, and we plug AND B to 4 power, and the "Filter fail" jack from conveyor B. What you have created now is a system that will automatically turn itself on and off, depending on if it has work to do or not! You are saving a LOT of power that way, and you don't need to do a lot. Just head outside, grub your ore, throw them into your dropbox, and repeat. Let me know if you have any questions, LOVE your channel!
