Honestly, I don't really trust Dovetail. I bought TSW2 on Steam after playing it on Xbox One (because my gaming PC was broken) and before I got a chance to play it on PC, they released TSW3. And then they released TSW4. And Now TSW5. The game looks fine, but it's not worth it to me if the game is replaced every year with little changes and more undelivered promises.
@someguy94223 ай бұрын
Yeah I agree, Definitely not buying from any developer that's just bumping out the same game every year or so. Why would they care about issues with their current game when they can just rinse and repeat releasing another one every year. Now they're charging even more money just for "early access". Yeah no thanks
@erikwilliam12543 ай бұрын
My sentiments exactly. First one I was happy to give a go after playing Train Sim Classic since 2012. Then they announced the third one not long after I got TSW. By that point I knew it's just a cash grab. Rather than update the improvements to the first one, they just make a copy and slap a number on it like it's a new game.

As a prior BNSF conductor on the Cajon sub, I’m pretty sure that manifest is restricted to 45mph per GCOR. Just because the track speed says 60, it depends on the type of train cars you have.

Similar to tractor trailers. Most speed signs are posted for cars and pick up trucks. A lot of those speeds we are supposed to go slower such as turns and on ramp/off ramps.

Not sure how accurate the train physics are but a little piece of advice. NEVER come off the dynamics before the automatic brakes. The dynamics keep the slack bunched up. If you stop dynamic braking while you have air, that slack will run out and you’ll for sure break a knuckle if it runs outs too hard.

I REALLY wish we could run real trains up the hill at 55 😂. More common is between 14 and 19mph so I'm jealous. The 30 curve at 7th St. becomes a 55mph zone, then up to 70. We have two freight trains capable of reaching 70 up that part of the hill but they're rare to catch. You've got to check a bunch of stuff on the trailing units, but you mostly got it. Fun fact: the gen field switch should be down on all trailing units, and all the units you have in the "run" position will start automatically with just the reverser in fwd or rev from the lead unit. It's called AESS, automated engine start system. I run Cajon pass in real life every day and this is shockingly accurate

Couple points of note: BNSF GCOR (General Code of Operating Rules) 5.8.2 requires ringing the bell: * Before moving, except when making momentary stop and start switching movements * As a warning signal anytime it is necessary * When approaching men or equipment on or near the track * When approaching public crossings until the crossing is occupied Also, when you're moving light power (just the locomotives) you can use the independent brake Railway name is now just BNSF, they dropped "Burlington Northern Santa Fe" in 2005

I don't see the point in the developers making a new TSW everytime other than to make sales. Each new version just releases new train lines and routes which you could easily implement as additional DLCs on just one TSW game. Interms of the suspension upgrade etc, they could just add that in as a patch or update.

when u go into dynamic and start loading u applied the automatic brake and did not bail the engine brake so you built up independant brake cylinder pressure, when this goes over 10 lbs on independant brake cylinder presure it will cut your dynamic brake loading to 0 klbps, this is improper use of blended braking, also if you apply automatic brake you can not back off to reduce it you can only goto release and try again after air recovers, this is because the electronic brake valve is in freight position.

Focus on 'ooo shiny!' like TSW, or focus on functionality. They chose functionality and honestly I have all the respect in the world for it. They didn't cheapen their product or sacrifice quality just so someone could be amazed by pretty colors. If Run8's "bad" graphics are a deal breaker for you, then so be it. GTBs on the dash. The "Hit Sheet" somewhere as well, showing you who you are behind on the route, and who is coming your way. And by the way, who was doing the shove in the yard at the beginning? I wish they would just simply have a game... and UPDATE it, they forget that's like, a thing anymore and it's crazy to me, like I shouldn't have to buy an entire new game, just to have MORE routes and trains, it is ridiculous, and when they do make a new game; they forget about the older ones! Edit : if there is ANY realistic train simulator I could recommend, that they update for more content and better game mechanics... It's Run 8 Train Simulator. As hard of a game it maybe to learn; It's the one I've found home to because they aren't dovetail. An edit-edit : I can not stop editing! Anyway I remember around my area, we had a bushfire and it was SUPER orange and hazy like, trains were still running but you couldn't see a train until the LED headlights shined through the fog and then just, appear from the air. It was crazy, and this video is just reminding me about that. I do have a photo still of a train in the haze during that time but yeah...
