I made my Mars-Racing debut for nr2003 on Tuesday. Everyone was 2 seconds ahead of me in practice, but in the race, I was passing people. On lap 2 in turn 2, a car spun in front of me, and I had nowhere to go. Wonderful.

That was a crazy way to end the race. I see that they don't have the G-W-C rule on iRacing. That wreck at the end was insane, with the #7 going airborne and all. Great to see you were able to get through and with a top 10 finish. Can't wait 'til Vegas!

The Stock cars are all about throttle control. If you feel yourself getting loose back off the throttle for a second. You end up getting really good at it and having a better sense for when you get in situations where you might get loose. If you keep getting loose in a certain corner try playing around with different lines and corner exit. In the cup car especially some corners you don't want to get back on full throttle until your wheels are mostly straight and your nearing full corner exit. This week the trucks were really loose out of 2 so I feel ya there. No weight in the back of these trucks. Its just about throttle control. You will get better as time goes on.

Great first race though, man. They way I thought after-race SR works is as soon as the last guy crosses the line, games over, server churns out the results. So on road courses if there are lappers like a minute behind you, you can get through like most of the lap and get all those extra corners as a tiny bit of extra SR before the last guy crosses the line. Doesn't work too well on ovals, but it's always best to run another lap before giving the winner a congratulatory door rub.

Also try not to make any sudden inputs in your pedals to fast midway through a corner. If you have to brake then ease into it. And try not to go from 0-100 percent throttle input through corners or areas where you normally get loose. This tip is mainly for the cup cars though, the trucks are a bit more forgiving. But its worth noting.

A pro tip my friend is that you want to come off the corners straight and diamond the front stretch you are losing tenth by not running right to the wall off turn 2 and 4

Hey Jeff, so you record races using Shadowplay? I tried for hours tweaking settings in OBS and could barely record 30fps let alone 60 due to high CPU utilization choking the system and causing skipped frames. Or do you use FRAPS and end up with a bunch of 4GB files that you merge together?

rbfishcs123 sign up at iracing.com, it is a subscription based service so you do have to play monthly, every 3 months or yearly. Right now the special is going on for $50 for a year instead of $99 for all newcomers. If you do sign up be sure to put my email address as the person that referred you [e-mail] and keep in mind of what you get with your subscription. You have to buy cars and tracks, in this case you would have to buy the Truck of your choice (Chevy, Toyota) and the track you run at if it isn't included in the base subscription. Cars range from $12-$15 and tracks the same. It is expensive in the long run but very worth it if you are a huge racing fan.

C class is full of wrecks. Honestly I recommend running the B series to cut your teeth. That's what I did, and now I have good A car control. Mostly clean races and the cars are still easier then the A cars. Seriously, check them out! (unless your c license then never mind lol)
