Someone else might've said it, but whenever you switch transmissions, you have to change the settings to match in your controls. 13 Speeds don't split lower gears- only high. That's also why you were struggling with shifting.

Damn beautiful cab over. I remember being a kid hanging out with my dad and grandma's friend. We were driving around in his freightliner Cab over truck. Not seeing the hood was weird but I'll always remember that moment.

I am ALL ABOUT cabovers. I was born in the 80s, so I nearly only saw cabovers for my entire childhood and youth. Seeing cabovers takes me back to that time. For that reason, the Kenworth K100 is what I almost always use in ATS, although I do also love the Freightliner Argosy.

growing up, the cab-overs were so popular with truckers during the 1970's through the 1990's, and the Kenworth K100E became my favorite, largely because of the TV show B.J. and the Bear. you did a video showcasing that particular cab with the paint job of B.J. and the Bear, and I have driven nothing else in ATS since then (but I have my own paint scheme)!

I remember as a kid it was a TV show used to come on call BJ and the Bear the guy driving in the truck just like that it was red and white and he had a monkey with him called bear. I didn't know what type of truck it was and I always as a kid love trunks and still do to this day but every time I saw that type of truck I used to call it the BJ and the bear truck. I actually tried straight backing for what could be the very first time, and aside from my trailer being slightly off-center, I got it after going as slowly as possible! :)

I use to be a road instructor for a truck driving school and here is a little trick backing up. Set the mirrors to where you have just the edge of the back of the trailer on the edge of the mirror, so maybe like 1 inch of the back of the trailer in the mirror. Check both mirrors and turn the wheel a hair toward the mirror that has more trailer in it. If there is more trailer filling up the right mirror you would turn the wheel to the right just a hair and it will bring the tractor to the left. You have to keep looking back and forth in the mirrors.

I love that wheel. Probably feels more realistic with it. Cabovers are good for one thing, getting into hard spots, but the ride sucks so bad. You are sitting on the front wheels, so you feel every little bump. My first truck in 1995 was a cabover, a 1992 International. I was so glad to get into a truck with a nose, it was so much more comfortable ride. I wish ATS would be more like flight sims and have 1:1 size maps of cities, but 1:20 on highways. They could have sold detailed cities like flight sims do.

I’m about halfway through the video and I think you might’ve forgotten to switch it from 18 to 13 speed in the settings. Traditional 13 speeds don’t split lower gears and you seem to be reaching highway speeds by 6L.

I just purchased John Ruta 362 and drove it around for a while. When I went to configure it, it wouldn’t save when I hit confirmation. What am I doing wrong?
