The worst weather in flight I ever had was through a cold front from DUB to the UK, the turbulence was so bad, but the tailwind meant it took half the time than usual. The pilot described the conditions as “sporty”.

It was my understanding that planes are only de-iced if the departure airport is experiencing icing conditions. I wasn't aware that any de-icing fluid would stick to the plane and prevent icing once the plane has taken off. Surely, all the fluid would be 'washed' off the wings by the plane's airspeed during the takeoff roll.

Had to pause the video at one point to dash to the window and watch a giant Emirates A380 roar over my house on final approach to Manchester! It was dipping and rolling all over the place, it's typical Manchester weather of wind and rain right now! So Jeff's cloudy approach was very realistic to me! You could probably find my house as he came into land there too

I used to fly this route all the time when I travel to Hartford, CT to see my girlfriend as going from MAN to DUB then onto BDL was the quickest way instead of going through Amsterdam. I was on the maiden voyage of the Aer Lingus Airbus 321 neo out if Bradley International airport a couple of years ago. Got a water salute from the BDL crash tenders which was really cool 😁 Jeff would you be able to do a KLM city hopper flight from Humberside International airport to Amsterdam Schiphol? HUY is my local airport and I fly out of there quiet often too. Keep up the great content 👌

As I live in Manchester, it’s safe to say there are a lot of houses. The city center has a lot of tall buildings and full of shops. Outside the center, you can find the UK’s second largest shopping mall in Salford and thousands of homes. And also we are home to the 2 best football teams in the UK. Safe to say great city with over 3 million people living here. Capital of the north of England

if you put in a flex temp into the perf page you dont have to go TOGA on takeoff. You have to push to the 2nd indent (MAN MCT) because the aircraft can take off without using full power

Deicer here. Jeff is kind of right. What you're seeing on the aircraft in flight is unrealistic. Typically if an airliner encounters icing in flight it will only form of the leading edges of the wings, tail, nose, etc. Ice on top of the wing, on the engines or fuselage will only occur on the ground and will be cleaned off before takeoff. Deicing fluid only prevents ice from forming/adhering to surfaces while the plane is on the ground. Once it's in the air it relies on the onboard systems (heated leading edges or inflatable boots) to keep the ice from forming
