As a mental health professional you have to protect the privacy of the clients/patients. It is hard to believe that there is a revolving door that would regularly mix impatient and outpatient people. She was a receptionist not a coordinator or administrative assistant.

From what I understood about this job saga... I think she got a temp job there for a year due to someone leaving the position due to maternity leave. She then said she was encouraged to apply to other open positions during that year she was working the temp job and that was how she got the 30 per hour job with the 'nightmare boss'... which she messed up due to her blatant abuse of sick time and leaving early on a consistent basis.

Same here! There are in-patient people that are in another unit, like living there for while. The out-patient care is usully at a different floor, with rooms to chat in. I feel like she was a receptionist

You may have some healthcare professionals as subscriber’s who work in mental health. If you did, they would be able to tell you that she’s talking about a hospital called the Royal Ottawa mental health center. It is a small three level hospital. It has inpatient units for schizophrenia, mood disorders, and geriatrics. It treats a variety of patients with more severe issues. Doctors will see inpatient at various times in their schedules but also see their outpatient patients in their offices that are in the hospital but not directly on the ward. The admin assistants are angels. It’s a busy hospital and the assistants job is to basically take care of all schedules for their team of doctors as well as admin tasks. A team of doctors typically has 2-3 doctors and 1 assistant. You must be very organized and be able to prioritize competing issues and patients effectively. I’m not surprised she was let go, it’s a high stress, deadline focused much of the time.

Former Ottawan here: it would have needed to be the Royal Ottawa because it's a huge hospital that does ALL major psychiatric treatment for the Ottawa region - both inpatient and outpatient. The whole building is about the size of the main building at the CHUM
