JFK 50 Miler - Running America's Oldest Ultramarathon

This is my journey running the 61st Annual JFK 50 Mile ultramarathon, which was held on November 18, 2023. This was my second time running the JFK50. Like the first time I ran it in 2019, it was an epic adventure. The race begins in Boonsboro, MD and ends in Williamsport, MD. In my opinion, the JFK50 is a race that should be on every runner's bucket list. It is likely the most enjoyable race I've ever participated in.

Glad you enjoyed it! I tried to get most of the aid stations, but those were a bit of a challenge holding the selfie stick in one hand and trying to get food and drink with the other! Great fun though, in spite of the suffering that went along with it!

Nice video, and great job, congratulations. What is the mounting method you use for your camera? It looked like a drone or something you’re controlling in your hand. Made for some nice shots. I’m using a stick where you only ever see half of me.

I'm using a 360 camera, specifically, the Insta360 One X2. The newest in that line is the Insta360 One X4. I'm using an Insta360 selfie stick. Since a 360 camera "sees" in every direction, I can simply take footage while running, and then frame the shot (decide which direction the viewer will see) in post production. When the selfie stick is in frame, all the camera sees is a black dot in my fist, because it is "looking" straight down the stick.
