I enjoyed hearing him discuss and share his views on a variety of interesting subjects. And I am very glad to have thoroughly enjoyed his films over the past 50+ years. I also appreciate his efforts in bringing attention to climate change, other environmental issues, and sharing his views on many other current events and topics that affect all of us. It's a shame that she conducted this interview with a stack of research notes in her lap, robotically leafing each page to the table after reading from it. I've always been a Redford (the actor and director) fan, but his politics ... or his superiority complex in regards to how he communicates about them ... has often been a turn-off for me, as it is with so many other entertainers who pontificate to the public. I just flipped to a segment of this interview, like opening a book in the middle. Sure, he should be forgiven for the occasional inaccuracy or memory failure, but ... he just said Dan Quayle (the rise of, presumably) was one of the catalysts for the making of "The Candidate." That's a little bit of a stretch it would seem to me since Quayle hadn't even been elected to national office ... that of the U.S. Senate ... until 1980. Oh, well. One can only imagine a rightward-leaning celebrity missing the mark so badly, what the liberal media would say about him or her. But then liberals know they are hardly ever held to the kind of accuracy standards that they love to impose on the rest of us.
