This series is just going downhill from here. There are a lot of flaws in Jhanak's character, but they are redeemable. She lost her mother, was almost married off to a goon, rescued and married off to another guy(that too her sister's fiance)all within the span of a night. Then she comes to a different city with the same guy, made to live in a house where everybody questions her character and taunts for things that are not even her fault. Initially I would get irritated by her inability to stand up for herself, but anybody in her position would do the same. When multiple people keep saying stuff to her it is quite natural to lose your self esteem. She is only 21. How much grit can someone expect from her. The fact that she still has not cracked under pressure itself is a big surprise. The poor girl did not even have enough time or space to even grieve her mom's death. On top of that Anirudh just adds to her problems. He knows what kind of people his family members are. Yet he keeps pushing her into situations where she will be humiliated. And when she does get humiliated he leaves her all alone to fend for herself. It is easy to say that she keeps crying all the time. But the girl is truly alone in this whole world. She needs a parent like figure in her life, not a half assed husband who only helps her when it is convenient for him and ditches and humiliated her, very publically so when it is inconvenient. He is so extreme with his reactions. He is nice to her only when it suits him. The moment his ego gets hurt, he is going to ignore and lash out at her. He is what people call a manchild. He only runs on his emotions. He has no principles. Since Jhanak was in a bad situation when he brought her to Kolkata, so he expects her to treat him like a God. First of all it is so stupid to take responsibility of a girl you are not related to. People no matter how citybred they are will question their character, a girl's more than the guy's, which is unfortunate but the truth. But he is supposed to be older than Jhanak and more mature than her. But still if he decided to take responsibility then fine, at least do it right. At least give her sometime to recover from her mom's death. In the beginning there was this scene where he insisted Jhanak to go to a restaurant with some of the family members and when she, by mistake, spilled something on his shirt, just got up and screamed at her in front of everyone. That was the time my opinion for this guy changed. You made all this big talk about taking her responsibility then you lose your shit just because she dropped some food on favourite shirt. Like seriously, is he a teenager? So looking at his character now really does not come as a big surprise. He has always been like this. He helped Jhanak because to him she was a damsel in distress and he felt like a hero saving her. And he is doing the same thing for Arshi now. He has never really helped for the betterment of the other person, just for how it would make him feel superior and noble. He has never loved Arshi or Jhanak. If he had truly loved Arshi he wouldn't have developed feelings for some other girl so easily. Arshi is confident and doesn't need Anirudh's help in anything. She is rich and has parents to support her. Jhanak, on the other hand, is a beautiful, feminine, girl who was in need of help due to circumstances and helping her made him feel needed and important. Thats about it. If he truly loved Jhanak, he should have respected her enough to first break up with Arshi and then approach Jhanak as a single man. He is the one already in a relationship, so if he wants to be with someone else it is his responsibility to disengage from Arshi and then ask Jhanak to be his wife or girlfriend. But he confessed his feelings to her (which is one among the many other things) and expects her to take the risk of looking like the home wrecker, that too when everyone already accuses her of the same thing, by no fault of hers. Just because he has helped her in the past, he expects her to be his dirty little secret. Why is anybody expecting Jhanak to respond to Ani's advances. She did what any girl with even an ounce of self respect would do. Why should she tarnish her reputation by getting involved with an almost married man. Jhanak might be wrong in many situations, but she was 200% right in rejecting Anirudh. As for the harsh words spoken by her, they weren't wrong either. Yeh Banda dheet hai aur isko izzat raas nhi ati. He is just a chapri in better clothes. Jab tak badtameezi se baat na karo tab tak isko kuch nhi samajh ata. A man in love not just desires his partner, he also values her and does not put her in situations where her honour will be questioned. But this guy has always done the opposite. He just wants her by his side, for his own selfish doesn't matter how she gets affected by it. Looking at things now, Anirudh is the reason for most of the problems in her life. The first time he compelled her to come with him from Jammu he made her life a living hell. He still did not learn a lesson. He brought her back again and now she is going to end up in jail. As if bringing her back to this hellhole wasn't enough, now he has actually left her alone when she needs him the most. And what is this stupid idea to help her in such cryptic fashion. He still isn't man enough to say that Jhanak can't do something like this. Can't he hire another lawyer for her. His father is not the only lawyer in the city. And I can't believe that he is actually second guessing her integrity here. Like seriously, you are supposedly in love with this girl, you have known for such a long time, don't you know that she would never do something like this. Even if he can't say it out loud, how is he even internally doubting her? How can anybody defend his character now. And people expecting writer to make changes and have them be together please don't get your hopes up. Even if that happens that will probably happen when the series is about to end which is very stupid imo. Like, this is not a 3hour movie that people will wait til the end of it. This is a series which will keep going. If any of you have seen her previous series you would know, Leena Ganguly has a reputation for making the female lead suffer very unnecessarily and ruining good stories with the excuse of the showing reality. I don't know what kind of reality she is talking about. It's almost like she gets a sadistic pleasure out of torturing the protagonist. I have watched this serial from the very beginning but not very consistently until the last month or so. Looking at the state of this I feel so stupid like why did I even watch this damn thing. Even Hiba in some of her interviews when asked about her role seems very unethusiastic. Almost like she doesn't like playing her character. She might be an actress but still a woman at the end of the day. Why would anyone want such a humiliation even if it is onscreen.
