I feel Ani and Arshi's relationship was arranged (forgive me I didn't watch in the beginning). Ani has found someone he likes but his family loves money and fame, therefore, that's why they like Arshi coz she is higher up. And they will never let Ani make his own decision to follow his own path to be with Jhanak who they think is a poor church rat. On normal day, the way Arshi's mum acts so high and mighty and even shouting in her daughter's soon to be matrimonial home is not appropriate. Personally, I'd not let my son marry into such a family. But Ani's parents are blinded by Arshi's mom fame and standing in society, they see nothing wrong with that.
