This is my second fullframe camera ever after being a fuji user who turned to a7ii user for a very short periode, than went back to fuji before i finally made my decision to go to canon mirrorless world. I love RP since the beginning. It's so much different when i started to use a7ii. RP's quality is a great value for its low price. The battery is surprisingly durable. I shot 8hrs wedding with only one battery. While my fuji xh1 almost "ate" 3 batteries at the same ceremony.

Sorry, but what kinda battery were you shooting with? The RP (in my opinion) has terrible battery life. No way it could last 8 hours unless you are only shooting a couple of clips.

@@LearningCurveTech sorry for the unclear explanation Above. I didn't shoot film, those were just still photos so i had much chance to turn off the camera. But i did this with my fuji too and still the batteries run out so fast. Btw I have 3 battery brands in my bag: canon, powerextra, kingma. Among of these 3, kingma has the best performance. But unfortunately the on screen battery indicator doesnt work for 3rd party batteries.

Great tips thanks man! I tried messing with the ISO a bit and this camera really surprises me, I can bump the iso to 1600-2k and not see THAT MUCH noise.

I shoot all my content using the EOS RP and its great! only thing is 4k quality could be slight better i feel and also doesn't offer a wide range of color profiles. But overall i get amazing slow mo and great footage everytime. Defo recommed for the price aswell

Awesome vid, def my favorite RP settings guide video on youtube rn. BTW does anyone have an issue with the "Exp. SIM" notification on their screen when shooting or recording video in the manual/movie mode? I cant seem to get rid of this setting, and what ive been noticing is that when I pull up the image after to edit, it is much darker on the computer screen. I have no idea where I can find the settings to turn that off. PLEASE HELP LOL

It should be to a decent extent for sure. Now if it starts pouring rain or melting snow i would get nervous. But I am not afraid to be hard on my gear

hey brotha, quick question. i use the canon rp and i have raw & jpeg L on is that bad or should it just be in raw? i mainly use the camera for car photography and sometimes i underexpose so i have to brighten it up alot in lightroom... is raw by itself best or raw + jpeg L

I would use Raw if you are going to edit them in lightroom, it just gives you a better looking image if you edit the colors. Raw + JPEG just gives you a file of each so you dont need to do that

I usually keep ISO at 100 and then (especially if using a tripod) I’ll play around with the shutter speed. And last thing would be moving ISO up. You reckon it’s okay moving ISO up and down? I’m just curious...

Great video just bought the RP. A question about video settings, but what’s the difference between having the camera in movie mode to shoot video compared to hitting record button whilst in M, AV, TV or P?

I prefer shooting video just in the video mode because it shows you more video options such as Audio levels, and the ability to turn on digital IS. Plus itll just keep my video settings there like shutter speed etc so when I come back to shoot video it's just ready to go. Thanks for watching!

JHawk definitely! I’m coming off a canon 80D, so I’m pretty much using all those same settings now, just looking for a newer, full-frame sensor. I was hesitant about the small battery and the lack of weather sealing (but I’ve gotten mixed results from searches where some say it’s mildly weather sealed, some say it’s not at all). But then I figured i can just get more batteries, and it’s not like I’m shooting in a hurricane or anything. Plus, especially after watching all your videos on it, the camera just seems to give you way more than you’re paying for. I especially love the crop option for photos. I shoot horse shows and don’t have a doubler, but I do have the 70-200 f2.8. So til I buy one of those I can still get my same zoom which I think is just an extremely underrated option for more amateur photographers like me that need to shoot distance

They effect the raw I believe. I wouldn’t touch sharpness till I’m editing after personally

Lots of good stuff, but for people who just got their camera, you move way too quickly assuming that we know how to make the adjustments. Also rank beginners are not going to shoot in manual oh, so it would help to talk about the non manual settings.
