Hey JH-Hobby! I'm a huge fan of your channel and many people including me look up to you as you easily inspire us. Although I have fell into some trouble, I am a rookie scale model builder and I'm still learning a lot of things, currently I am building a 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STi (Tamiya Subaru Impreza WRC'99) As I bought this kit I have instantly fell in love with this car and now I absolutely adore it. I have not painted the body as it's already painted in the Subaru blue and it's shiny and looks really good, I was painting the window trims in black Tamiya Acrylic and I used electrical tape to mask the outside of the window trim (I didn't have masking tape at the moment) I masked it really accurately and I got to painting, I did 2 coats and let it dry, I peeled the tape off and to my surprise some of the black paint had leaked out of the window trim and went under the electrical tape, I asked my mother for help and she said she could clean the leaked paint that went out the window trim with acetone, the problem is that I'm scared that it might mess up the factory paint on the body, would it ruin the paint on the body? If yes then what would you advise me to do? Thank you so much JH-Hobby for being such a good KZbinr and being such a role-model for scale model building! 😁
@JHHobby3 жыл бұрын
Hey man, thank you so much i really appreciate it!😁😁 for the issues u had is quite hard to fix, not too sure what type of acetone u guys had, some of them are too strong and might make the plastic hazzy and melt..maybe try on other parts 1st..my tip on solving this is try using a toothpick and scrap the excessive paints slowly..hopefully it will work
@matty14053 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the reply! I have had the idea of cutting off a bit of the sprue and my mother could try the acetone on the bit of sprue, although I will try your advice to try scape it off with a toothpick. Thank you so much, I will let you know of my results!

just buy a simple model with a basic toolset and start building. And learn as you go from your errors. Very few have a building level as this MASTER.
