Basically, at the beginning of the video, maanu gives annural a scarf (which is a symbolism of their unspoken/hidden love), then when maanu gets on the train, there is a significant flashback that enters the scene which shows both the love and misunderstanding maanu and annural both had for eachother. The other man in the scene was known as maanu's friend (the jealous friend, who also happened to like annural). When maanu's friend found out annural had got given a scarf by maanu he did the next thing which was try create misunderstanding between them two and to break them apart. When annural got told by that man to go onto the stage, she left her scarf on the chair. That, there was a perfect opportunity for the jealous man to steal it and go put it back into maanu's vanity room, showing that annural didn't want it anymore (a sign of rejection) then the jealous guy went back into the hall and wisphered to maanu that annural put the scarf back in your vanity room, she rejected you blah blah and thats where he goes to grab the scraf back and proceed get off the train. When annural finishes performing, she goes to look at what could of happened and then the lady who was observing everything, told annural and she went to go look for maanu but as maanu gets back on the train, annural gets off, finds the scarf and misses him, not being able to explain herself.

You are wrong on one very important thing. When the flashback starts from the train Maanu sees a guy coming out of Annural's room (her assistant) and gets slightly suspicious but brushes it off when he sees her. Then when he's coming off the stage he sees the same guy whispering something to Annural and the assistant quickly leaves again upon spotting Maanu, making him even more suspicious. The jealous friend spots this and takes the opportunity to steal the scarf and plant it in the assistant's room. You can see assistant's picture as Maanu is picking up the scarf after the friend accuses Annural and the assistant having a thing. He basically framed the assistant while maintaining his image as a good friend. Took me 3 watches to fully get it. The song gets even better once you know the story.

Story is they both use to take train back and forth together and he gave his scarf to her ,,, they are singers in a club and mannus character is insecure , he first looked worried when he seen the stage manager coming out of Annurals room , then Mannus friend is jealous of his success ( man who bumps in to girl ) he realises Mannu likes the girl and the scarf was given to the girl by him , so he takes it an returns it to mannus room and comes back to mannu saying she returned it , his eyes initially go to the stage manager thinking she is leaving him for that guy , the girl that was watching seen it all amd when Annural is looking for mannu she tells her everything she seen , Annural then takes the train to meet him but he leaves scarf at station saying he’s done with her Jhol which kinda means her presence her charisma which always attracts others x

She was so amicable and he seem to be so reserved. She tried to get him to make some meaningful comments considering he was Punjabi himself but he would not make honest sincere contribution. That’s how I felt about this guy. Good luck lady.

No problem I'll explain, there are two performing artists who love each other but they couldn't express their love for each other. The boy gave her his scarf and she kept it with her all the time. That scarf was a kind of validation for both that they feel for each other. Then there was this friend of this boy who was jealous of him and stole the scarf. But there is a witness girl who saw everything and went to this girl and told her everything. The girl realizes and goes after him, but she misses him. The whole song is like the flashback of their love for each other. It is pure art expressed in a short film. Pure art always leaves some elements of curiosity. It is philosophical piece and Pakistan is good at philosophy.

I love how everyone is so wrong in the comments about the story and putting unnecessary weight at scarf's symbolism. The friend put the scarf in the 3rd guys room (the assistant) and frames him. He leads Maanu to believe that Annural and the assistant have a thing. Everyone missed the assistant getting framed it seems.
