JHS is a shining example of what people mean when they say authenticity is what it takes to succeed in building a modern brand. You can't synthesize it, but when it's there, the response is incredible. By the very nature of its humility, I don't think Josh or the company give themselves enough credit for how incredibly well this community responds to their honesty, joy, and connection with the customer. Truly remarkable, should be an inspiration for any industry.

"Shimmer" is actually a term that Eno gave to a different effects treatment of feeding a long-ish reverb/delay into the Yamaha SPX90 "Symphonic" effect or the Lexicon Chorus Delays algorithm from the Lexicon PCM70 and then feeding that entire process back into itself using the aux sends/returns on the mixing console. So "Shimmer" was actually a multi-chorused long decay reverb. Eno called that chorused reverb effect treatment Shimmer because the sound evoked the feeling and visual of the shimmering water when the sun shines down on the gentle waves rippling across it's reflective surface. One famous pedal company from California incorrectly named the recirculating octave reverb on their first ever reverb pedal effect "Shimmer" when taking cues from the word Shimmer on the front panel backlit display of The Edge's Lexicon PCM70 unit in his refrigerator rack, captured in a documentary film made during the U2 Vertigo tour. Neither Eno or Lanois ever named this octave reverb feeding back into itself effect anything because it was to be kept top secret. Some have tried to reverse engineer it, but I have yet to hear the original effect created using the [AMS 15-80s Pitch Changer Delay, Lexicon M93 Prime Time Digital Delay & Lexicon 224 Hall B reverb] correctly re-created by anyone. I use the original equipment on my song "Leaving The World Behind" and take shot at a similar sound as what first appeared on Harold Budd's "The Pearl" album, where the recirculating octave reverb effect first appeared.

Just received the 3 Series Harmonic Trem and it’s already on my live board. It fills a long lived gap in my sonic palate for a fraction of the cost of some of the more expensive variants. This is where the three series shines. It addresses both the bread and butter effects that we all use on a day to day basis AND reaches into more uncommon sounds that you might only use once or twice during a show. Well done JHS, you are crushing it.

I'm serious when I say that these 3 series JHS pedals are one of, if not _the_ best thing Josh/JHS have ever done. They sound fantastic while each is also "their own thing" in terms of their sound and not being a *total* derivative of something else. The form factor is also cool, simple and effective/flexible, the parts, PCB and build is as good as anything and for $100 a piece?? You really cannot beat it. There a few which I'd literally choose on their own merit over other in heir category, regardless of price. If one day (hopefully far, far away or better yet, never) they're no longer being produced, they would quickly become one of those highly sought after, exponentially increasing in aftermarket value pedals that were once the affordable stuff in every music shop that the gear snobs didn't want then but fight over now because they're favorite session musician swears by them (which btw I think Josh Scoot would love). A'la the Ibanez 10 series stuff like the Mostortion and TS10, the Nobels ODR-1, the Ibanez "Sound Tank" EM-5 Echo Machine, the DOD Meat Box etc etc. The best part is unlike most of that stuff, you wouldn't need to have them rehoused because they're already built like tanks. The only thing they _maybe_ would need being a replacement foot switch every 20 years of 15,000 stomps. Anyhow, rant over. I just wanted to give dude and his team props on those things, They deserve it. The hardest part was deciding which to go with first.

If you make a double pedal with this and your regular reverb... it's like the Milkman F-stop on your board but for regular working folks who want something for fun and extra cash on the weekends. A small board with 3 series Compressor --> Screamer --> Fuzz ---> Distortion ---> Delay --> Reverb ---> Harmonic Tremolo. Less than $700 for a pro set up made in Kansas City? That's new. That's amazing. (I have to get one so the young players I work with have experience with the 3 series. )Your Screamer sounds better than all my screamers. Why? How? - JHS I owned before: modified reissue TS-9, Moonshine. JHS pedals I own now: Haunting Mids, Pulp n Peel. JHS pedals that are on my list for next season: Emperor, Bonsai, Clover, Color Box.

Came for the octave reverb, stayed for the drums and even later for the crazy fuzz after verb and sick burn.

Dude....you're playing was really, really great. I love the new pedals and you've finally got me. I'm looking to get that Harmonic Trem....I've been looking for an inexpensive Uvibish thing forever. Oh, wow...the verb....that's beautiful and epic....there's another hundred bucks for you. So nice to finally financially support you.

@@jhspedals I am surprised by how clean the sound is that comes out of the pedal. That was one thing I was concerned about. I assume because I'm running the sound through an aux channel on my mixer and am sending plenty of clean sound into the pedal it's helping to keep the signal clean. Excellent craftsmanship. Good job guys! 👍👍👍 Thank you ✨️✨️✨️

As someone of similar stature to Mr. Scott (6'4" 235lb) - thank you for reminding just how diminished an SG looks in comparison to my own frame. :) Love you guys - these pedals are great!

Just ordered my first JHS pedal - the octave reverb! In my opinion most "shimmer" reverb pedals are a bit gimmicky. The up/down octave switch makes the JHS pedal more functional, and the octave effect sounds organic and warm compared to others I've used and heard. Can't wait to get this one on my board!

Man, JHS! You’re making it hard to choose which of your 3 Series reverbs is my favorite. Such emotional turmoil! Such pathos! I could fill a book with the merits of each and sell enough books to buy a coffee or two, but… I guess… instead, I’ll just need to order one of these newfangled Octave Reverbs. Nice work, everyone, and I’m loving those jams.

at 8:10 the harmonic tremolo tone is amazing... that's a killer sound... unique but easy on the ears. I now want this pedal.
