Let’s not forget the hotel employees. Housekeeping has to clean rooms behind each of their guests. Sure we can let a room sit 24 - 48 hours after departure, but what about guests who are still in the hotel? Most still want some sort of service even if it is limited.

Disappointed. The ethicists were forthcoming until they came to the topic of allocation of resources. Other than to say it needed to be transparent to people, they danced around this subject. Easier for them to fall back on saying case to case basis than to admit that there will probably be written guidelines that will be closely followed.
